Fox News still worries about Palin and her on going battle with her own retardation.
    http://thinkprogress.org/2010/01/14/...unding-father/

They should've known that question was too "advance" for her... sadly though, I have a weird thing for dumb bitches

...but to answer your question Blender, yes, Fox News does fail at math along with many other things

They are just being fair and balanced, giving time to different viewpoints on math. You must be a liberal trying to force real americans to make their polls add up to 100%.

That is funny. LOL. That being said I will still trust Fox way before CBS, NBC, ABC, or CNN. Too bad there is no libertarian TV news.

Old old old that was from over a month ago daily show/Jon Stewart is who caught it but if you watch the whole clip the anchors on fox and friends said after it went up obviously the numbers were wrong

I think what it ended up being was the last number was supposed to be 6% not 26%

not that big of a deal IMO I can think of much worse things CNN and others have misreported

There's also the time they reused footage from the 9/12 rally for a rally that happened in November to make it look like more people attended

Jon Stewart caught that too I think it was on hannitys show.

They all distort stuff obviously but in terms of substance fox is way ahead of anyone else

You seem to be in the majority there. FOX is still getting more than double the ratings as CNN and they are the closest to FOX.

Look at some other things that have a large following...

    Nickleback
    Light Beer
    McDonalds
    Ranch Dressing

Just because its popular doesn't mean its good. Also, since Fox leads in ratings its kinda stupid that they criticize the media as being "liberal".

But the crazy thing about Fox is that they have a lot more live content, like commentary, anchor reads, interviews (where they either badger or coddle the person they are interviewing, depending on whether that person suits the GOP agenda or not), and reporter stand up. You rarely ever see pre-recorded investigative content on Fox.

So Fox gives you a lot more time with "talking heads" than the other networks. This is because having a face in front of a camera is both faster and cheaper to produce than traditional taped/edited content and it also gives the illusion of immediacy. But Fox's style of production leaves little time for fact checking, and also emphasizes the style and attitude of the reporters over the actual content of the stories.

Newscorp are scum. I am trying to cut my consumption of any Fox/Newscorp media, including entertainment. No more HarperCollins books (not that they ever have any good titles anyway), no more Fox or FX TV, no Fox movies etc etc.

24 hour cable news in general is an inferior source to print media, and online sources like the AP and online newspapers. I feel sorry for people who can't sit still long enough to read a newspaper, but then again half this forum can barely read anyway and are fools to be pitied.

And while Fox may claim to have the highest ratings, the truth is all cable news networks combined still get beaten by re-runs of Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Honestly for media I only deal with NPR and PBS News now, more investigative reporting than pundits. I think the reason why fox news and limbaugh are so popular is because their audience looks to them for knowledge and its much easier to consume knowledge from a figurehead than engage something that requires thought.

When you know policy, when you know history you don't have to listen to a figurehead for their construed view of modern situations.

I mean beck has been covering stuff on van jones seiu sorro and others for months without mention of it from anyone else

problem is it's stuff you prob just don't want to hear

where are the news organizations on the labor unions pay off and the senator bribes via healthcare? Fox reports that no one else does

oreilly is prob one of the best reporters out there he's abot as middle as it can get as a journalist goes

    hannity is far right
beck is middle of the road mostly (he trashes republicans too)

the only thing I think they did wrong was hire palin as a commentator I really don't need to hear her campaigning on these shows.

Fox is far and away much better than any of the others and the ratings prove it. Yo can't say their watcher are dumb when you have guys like Charles payne Stuart varney, forbes and cavuto on there

it's simply info you guys either
    1) don't want to hear so you tune it out
    2) can't seperate the "infotainment" from The real journalism.

I think that makes you close minded

They are usually the first because they don't have the BS filters that most other media outlets have. And since all their content is mostly live its easy to make changes on the fly.

But as far as investigative reports, no I have never seen an investigative package run on Fox. The best example of an "investigative package" would be the segments that run on 60 minutes. The reporter does research and conducts interviews with those involved on all sides of a story. A "package" consists of the reporter narrating the story and video clips of the interviews and footage relevant to the story (i.e. surveillance, etc).

What Fox does is take the news straight from the wire, present the story as a straight reporter read with a partisan slant, and then present commentary on it for the remaining time. The "interviews" are either Conservative figures involved with the story, conservative commentators, or fringe conspiracy theorists presented as "experts".

In the rare event that anyone presenting a viewpoint that challenges that of Fox/the GOP/Rupert Murdoch, that person is put up against a firing squad of conservative commentators and badgered with proselytizing and rhetorical questions such as "why do you hate America?," etc.

As far as them having "smart guys" like Forbes and Cavuto (neither of whom impress me much), those guys are not the viewers, those are the people in front of the camera. As for the people watching at home... I haven't seen the stats but I'm willing to wager Fox has the least educated demographic of cable news.

    geraldo riveira
    Greta van susteren

come on you just don't watch it you're way off

beck does investigative reporting alll the time he doesn't usually have a bunch of liberal on to interview because they are too scared to go on

oreily does though and he interviews both

60 minutes interviews ,edits, slants, portrays it the way they see fit. It's packaged the way they want to get their point across

    Case in point

the recent Harry Reid comments, they interviewed the book authors and not once asked them about Harry reids comments. But they spent 23 minutes on palin

    yeah real objective

I have yet to see Beck do anything but commentary. All I see on his show is the camera pointed at his gord while he reads off his latest conspiracy mumbo jumbo from the teleprompter.

Oh, sometimes he uses a blackboard.

Reporting is what a journalist does though. Glenn Beck will be the first to tell you (if only to save himself from prosecution for libel/slander), that he's not a journalist, he's an entertainer.

All the TV media outlets including CNN, FOX, etc. are all a joke to me as news reporting organizations. I'm surprised people defend any of them as being serious news organizations. They spend hours and hours on the balloon boy, tiger woods, etc. How can you even pretend this is good journalism (good entertainment maybe but not journalism). They all have one goal, to make money through entertainment. That's it. Never would they not run a story with large public interest because "there are more important issues".

Come on now, you are talking to 2 hardcore liberals that can see no wrong in the Party or their propaganda wings. Trying to talk to them is like talking to a wall. You've seen how quick they resort attacks when you dont immediately concede the point to them. Anyone that doesnt see the hardcore liberal slant to ANYTHING "reported" on CNN and especially NBC is simply disconnected from reality.

I believe it was Blender that once said that MSNBC was unbiased.

BTW Tony as a point in one of his posts. Unless I cannot find enough info for what I am looking for I do much of my research on BBC. They actually still have decent reporting, unlike anything in this country.

The problem is you think anyone against Obama is in the fox news camp

out of all the media organizations FOX reports the storys with the least amount of bias. Yeah I said it.

Everyone has a slant that's fact. But the way the NBC abc CBS people blatantly ignore any major story that does democrats harm is laughable. At least fox challenges that view and doesn't stand behind them blindly. You saw the criticism Sanford got, snowe got, etc

hell beck slams republicans as much as he does liberals

Oreilly is conservative but he has liberal guests on ALLthe time and he doesn't attack them unless they lie ( like Barney frank)

you guys are just close minded fox threatens your propaghanda and you believe the left media as much as you blame the right viewers blindly following fox news

where was NPR and BBC on van jones , Barney frank, dodd , rangel, bribes on senators, seiu, acorn, etc?

    NOWHERE

Becks acorn coverage wasn't investigative journalism? Lol

I've seen MSNBC when visiting my mother, otherwise I don't even know what channel it is on directv. NPR is suggested by my professor for our lectures/discussion. If NPR has a slant its because you would think Fox is "fair and balanced," reporting the other side of the story doesn't necessarily make a media out biased.

As I have said many times, FOX as a news organization is closer to center than any other outlet I have seen. Their commentary, on the other hand, is obviously biased towards the right.

As we all know, just because he has a PHD it means your professor is not biased right? There is a reason this nations universities are commonly redered to as liberal training grounds.

I guess a Bachelors of Liberal Arts is politically biased too? What about liberal studies in general? Left wing slant there? Hell lets just say that everything that doesn't own guns, thump the bible or wear a lapel pin left leaning socialists.

I cant believe you would call a liberal a hypocrite. We all know its just cause they are smarter than us gun toting, bible thumping racist rednecks. We arent educated enough to understand their superior ways of thinking.

Joking aside, it has nothing to do with what degree, todays universities actively push a very liberal agenda on students.

I agree 100%. I've seen polls that show the majority of conservatives get their news from cable news (mostly Fox), and that Fox leads among uneducated viewers.

More young people get their news online than watch cable news, and more liberals get their news online than conservatives.

As far as print media, more liberals read newspapers than conservatives.

Look at the Katie Couric interview with Palin where she asked that gotcha question "what do you read?" All Palin had to do was name one single newspaper (NY Times, USA Today, Washington Post, WSJ, etc) and she couldn't do it.

Joking aside, it has nothing to do with what degree, todays universities actively push a very liberal agenda on students.

You know I think I'm like you im not a republican cheerleader nor am I a liberal. I think I have a lot in common with conservative views but I don't blindly follow the right

I don't like palin ( although I think she did a good thing)
    I don't like McCain

    But I disliked Obama more

I can watch CNN and pick out the bullshit. I can watch fox and pick out the hannity propaghanda from the actual reporting. This notion that I can't is preposterous. Liberals get their news from online? Are you kidding me?

Palin answered that kouric question wrong it shows she's not ready and too scared of her answer to be honest. She would have been better off saying "I don't really read newspapers so I can't answer that" than what she said. So what

I hope Peter schiff wins in Connecticut though.......

I like Palin, I think she gets herself in trouble when she tries to play politics instead of saying what she feels.

I'm not a repub either, I simply cannot relate to the bible thumping side of the party. I am a very staunch fiscal conservative though and a pretty strict constitutionalist.

Glenn Beck's carzy rants on ACORN, SEIU, etc were just talking head doing an anchor read. I really didn't see any "investigation" being done where he provided any of his sources for the info or anything like that. It was all just conspiracy nonsense.

Palin didn't answer the question wrong, she didn't answer at all. All she had to do was name one newspaper (whether she even read the damn thing or not) and she blew it. I can't believe that someone would be that willfully ignorant as to be in politics and not even know the name of their local newspaper.

Fox as a news organization close to the center? Bahhahahahha. They are the ones who promoted the "tea parties". When you have an organization creating and promoting its own right-wing political rallies, thats pretty far from center.

You're so blinded by liberalism you can't even comprehend an opposing point of view

did you miss the undercover series where people went in and acorn tried to set them up with a house for underaged illegal immigrant prostitutes? Don't really need to provide sources when it's on tape

you obviously do not watch beck at all. You prob just listen to what olberman says about him. He has more visual aides, diagrams, peoples names, websites to fact check, video tape, audio tape etc to prove his case than ANYONE on tv.

But you prob have never watched him so what do you know.......except he ocassionally cries.

Last week his black caucus he had on to discuss economics , black representation in the democratic party , constraints by the dems etc was prob the single best representation of unbiased journalism I've seen this year. But you prob never saw it

fox promotes the tea parties (which I agree with in principle)because ot shares their views, just like the left media promotes it's agenda through it's organizations. You never see NBC or CBS talk about what happened with Acorn, to me that's worse than fox COVERING the tea parties.

What are you scared of? Tea parties were to protest expansion of govt, invasion or privacy, protest taxes, lack of transparency, oppose govt run healthcare, cap and trade, what's wrong with that?

It's a different viewpoint. It def holds more merit than any rainbow coalition march

I hope you dont expect any kind of reasonable response from him. I've had more intelligent arguments with 3 year olds. Since you bring up tea parties he will immediately call you a teabagger, proof he gets his news from Olberman, and other attacks, usually ending with some statement saying that your arent smart enough to understand what is going on.

I've watched enough of Beck to know that he's full of shit.

Also, in making that video and releasing it on Facebook and Youtube, the kids who filmed it broke several Maryland statutes dealing with videotaping and consent. So they are lucky they haven't been indicted.

Also, its not ACORN's job to bust brothels, that is the responsibility of law enforcement.

I've always found it funny that liberals were so quick to attack the kids that made the videos. They actually want to see the kids prosecuted and ACORN to continue to get MY money.

The ACORN workers in those videos were fired. I think Acorn did all that was necessary to correct the problem.
