repost and really close lol
goes to show you that...
No, "they" can't and the article clearly says that they can't. The article also says the cop was using radar.
1.)The cop heard the guy coming and turned on his radar, he clearly saw the guy was speeding.
2.) Cop couldn't identify the particular model of radar he used that particular day when asked in court.
3.) Radar evidence gets thrown out.
4.) Only admissible evidence is cop's word, which is NOT sufficient in a speeding case.
5.) Case is dropped.
So basically the guy weaseled his way out of a ticket when the radar evidence indicated he was guilty. I don't see how thats important enough to write an article and make a thread about, but yeah.![]()
Not important enough? Guy was undoubtably guilty of speeding, goes to court, puts up a fight and gets it thrown out. I fought the law and I won!
Right, but as far as the question stated in the original post:
The article and the events in it really have no bearing. You can't get a ticket because you "sound fast". The answer to the question is no.question: Can they give you a citation if they think that you are speeding?
Incorrect. A ticket is an accusation. They can give you a ticket just because they feel like it. It does not mean that it will hold up in court.
