I just stumbled into the politics section, and I find the outright dismissal of this being an issue fascinating. AirMax has made well thought out arguments as to why these cookies are offensive, and the best response levied was "just go kill yourself." Listen geniuses, those of you who do not see it as an issue lack the critical thinking skills to look outside of your own experience and see how something can affect a different group. Its not racist to you because as member of a group that has always enjoyed power in this country, white male, its impossible to demean you based on your genetic characteristics. Since there was never any stigma affixed to being white and male in America, there is no blanket stigma I can evoke simply by saying "your'e a white guy." As a black male, I'm not personally offended by this guys ignorance because I know that I use more brain cells asleep than he does awake. However, I can accept how this could potentially be offensive to the older generations who were closer to the civil rights movement.

hit the nail on the head with that one.You fail at history son. Slavery was only ended on paper with the emancipation proclamation. African Americans (and poor whites for that matter) were free in theory, but once many began to work as farm laborers for their former masters they were forced into predatory leasing agreements designed to keep them bound to the land. Sharecropping lasted into the 1950's/'60's. And many state and local governments enacted Jim Crow laws and restricted Blacks from accessing education, voting, etc. Segregation lasted untill the mid '60's. The Civil Rights act wasn't passed untill 1968.
So when you say "slavery ended 145 years ago" you're just showing your ignorance. The events that took place to bring us as close to equality as we are today are a lot more recent than you might think.
As for people making fun of Bush... I've heard 10x as many White people make fun of him as I have heard Black people make fun of him. Hell. other than the GOP fanbois on here I don't think I've ever met anyone who even takes him seriously.
