    Wow.

At least one person has been gracious in "defeat", so to speak, and it's the last person who I would have expected. Props to MrKidd.

The rest of you should learn from his example.

I'm not even going to gloat on here.. no point in doing so. Just ready to move forward to try some new strategies to get us out of this hole.

    Nonetheless.. tonight is historic.

The problem is, we still dont know if Obama has a strategy to move us forward ir if he is going to continue to simply work along the party lines. That is what is so scary about him. He hates free enterprise. He thinks people that suceed in life and make alot of money are evil. He is against all of the things that caused America to go from a fledgling new country to the worlds premier superpower in less than 200 years.

    Nonetheless.. tonight is historic.
I agree, we wont know for a few years if it is a historic disaster or not.

    good post.

many things to think about. we gave reps a run at fixing our woes and running our country. unfortunately bush did get a raw deal w/ 911 if it wasn't for that economy and faith in gov would be very much different today. but w/ that said. reps failed the american public. dems then when majority but still have to fight w/ rep white house and opposition. america looks like it is going dems sweep b/c CHANGE is key word.

last election christian vote won bush another 4 years. vote is still out but as someone stated 2:1 new voters were dems. they did something right w/ this. some may say well its only b/c he is black. well again no different then last election w/ bush envoking jesus any chance he can.

but if obama wins he has a HUGE uphill battle. it won't be easy economy is worst its been in a long time; we still have some years of bush/rep policys. if he doesn't try to bring nation together and do MOST of what he ran on you can hand reps 2012

my biggest hope is it will possibly fix some race issues in this country.

Same here. Its really disappointing to see people vote without any knowledge of who they are voting for.

dems have had 2 years and have only driven us further down than we were when they took office. They ahve broken every proimse they made in 06 and ahve half the approval rating of Bush. What makes you think that will change when they have an anti capitalism president.

not necessarilly because he is black, even though there is a % that did, but because he is the in thing right now. You just have to listen to your local media outlet to know that. The problem is, alot of these new voters have no clue who they are voting for, just that he isnt a republican and that is good enough.

The fact that Obama has never worked across the aisle says that he will only drive a larger stake between is opponents and supporters.

Seriously it doesnt even have to be that way. At the least consider this an opportunity for the Republicans to wake up and evolve but maintain the structure of the party that they once were.

back to the rest... saying people who vote for him don't know what they are voting for is about as lame as me saying anyone who votes mccain doesn't know who they are voting for - just as i said about bush; but i guess w/ bush i was right b/c america is swinging very very dem right now due to bush + followers.

but whose fault is this? you have to point the finger inward.

obama is set to win both popular vote and electorial votes by landslide that says a whole lot about reps trending right now.

lets also look at who GOP put up against obama... how many times has mccain lost? and look at his VP pick - com'on

Someone is being a sore loser. Like a mf'er. Chalk it up to what is, a loss.

Race issues extend beyond what your perception of it being only about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

At this point our opinions really don't matter. The election is over. The McCain campaign ran a terrible campaign. We as a country no matter whether we voted for him or not need to rally behind him and hope for the best.

Like I said in another thread as much as I disagree with the guy the guy is going to be our president and he has my full support until. OF course I will criticize him when he does things I don't agree with but that is our jobs of citizen of this country. Mass criticisim echoes through this country louder than anything. If you don't believe it than look at this election. People are not happy with Bush and that is why Obama is going to win.

Obama is a smart guy. That being said we should all take comfort that he will pick advisors that will help his Presidency.

As much as some people may dislike Obama(myself included) NONE OF US SHOULD WISH UPON HIM A FAILED PRESIDENCY. Because when he screws up WE ARE ALL SCREWED.

Obama ran a hell of a campaign. I take my hat off to him and he has my congratulations and well wishes.

I know there are still racists but that is by no means race issues. When was the last time a black was denied a job due to his race? When was the last time a white was denied a job due to his race? I'll be more whies are denied jobs due to race than black because of Affirmative Action. If anything, there are more race issues with blacks blaming/hating whites for all of their woes than there are whites blaming/hating black.

People are blaming repubs for many things that are at the very least rooted in dem legislation, if not actually put into practice by dems. The last 2 years have been a perfect example of what the dems can do when they get a majority, absolutely nothing unless it follows party lines. Part of that is the absolutely aimless campaign by McCain, part of that is the uneducated voters.

republicans will still be here. The country is still center IMO. Washington will be center left but I don't see it going hardcore in a different direction. This isnt the fisrt time a party hasnt had a majority so this notion the country will fail is false. I am scared of pelosi Reid and obama in power but time will tell

i understand... but lets hypothetically say only educated get to vote... um that vote normally swings dems as well. the problem w/ this country is we run a 2 party system. if we allowed lib, grn, dems, reps, etc to all campaign + debate on the same scale things would be very very different.

I take my hat off to him and he has my congratulations and well wishes.
i hope people who are for mcCain think like you ...

I knew Obama would win. McCain's campaign was just to full of shit, and scare tactics to get very far.

So now we have four years to get the word out that it's time for a libertarian president...
