I know there are still racists but that is by no means race issues. When was the last time a black was denied a job due to his race? When was the last time a white was denied a job due to his race? I'll be more whies are denied jobs due to race than black because of Affirmative Action. If anything, there are more race issues with blacks blaming/hating whites for all of their woes than there are whites blaming/hating black.

like it or not its the truth numbers dont lie.
People are blaming repubs for many things that are at the very least rooted in dem legislation, if not actually put into practice by dems. The last 2 years have been a perfect example of what the dems can do when they get a majority, absolutely nothing unless it follows party lines. Part of that is the absolutely aimless campaign by McCain, part of that is the uneducated voters.

i don't understand your point b/c your proving mine... race is still a HUGE factor in this world and hopefully getting a black president will not only empower blacks, but women and other minorities. this can have an awesome reversal effect... your oprah, jackson, sharpton will nothing to compalin about. this is a great season for the white man... OJ we can give them presidentcy - lol

first off when you are in power most of your policies don't take affect right away. even when obama takes charge we are still looking at 2 more years of bush policies. but you are trying to say the past two years of dems majority is cause for our failures... sorry man you missed the boat.

I hope you are right but I really dont see it. With an increase in govt handouts it will only increase the number of people that expect them. When I said I was going to cut off my insurance from work I wasnt kidding. Why should I pay for it if the govt will give it to me for free?

I know this, but you cannot say that the dems have passed any significant legislation that will do anything but hinder our recovery from the issues we have now.
The legislation I was talking about though was more geared towards the Clinton Admin with the CRA which led to the housing boom and the meltdown and the subsequent credit issues, which led to most other problems we have now.

You'll end up paying for it one way or another. If its not increased taxes, it will be through inflation and wealth redistribution lulz.

this is very large misunderstanding on what he is trying to do... i will break it down for b/c i know alittle bit about this as i worked for one of the largest TPAs for 6 years.

he is proposing using gov buying power to get same policy benefits he has for regular americans...

THIS IS NOT FREE. YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY. BUT IF IT IS BETTER THEN YOUR CURRENT INSURANCE THEN YOU CAN BUY IN.

now why would we do this... more people on a plan the better the benefits. this is why fortune 500 companies have better benefits then private companies. mainly b/c of buying power. considering Joe The Plumber has been quite the topic lets look at what it would cost Joe's Company for healthcare. Well say he employs under 10 employees. Decent healthcare would roughly run 500$ a month per person. Lets say one of those people gets diabetus or has cancer; once he goes to renew his package his rates will be recalculated and that 500$ could go up to 600$ b/c of 1 employee. now w/ the buying power of 100,000s of members your rates could be significantly lower like 100$

I understand where this is coming from, but emplyees still have a premium to pay and most of the people without health insurance now will not be able to afford this coverage even at the lower costs. Alos he said he was going to use the same plan that is used by congress. That is not a cheap plan, who is going to pay for this plan? My tax money. I'm willing to bet that costs for this program only top military spending within 3 years of full inception. Who is going to pay for it when those evil rich people that make over 200k, or whatever number is is using now, a year cant afford it? Then add in removing the cap on SS deductions, and raising the cap gains taxes and that top 10% of income tax payers will be allowed to keep less than half of their earnings.
