Default Oh no, another Neon SRT-4 owner

What's up folks? New booty to IA here. I got some SRT-4 buddies who are here so I'm checking out this place. I also met some IA members in the past and they were pretty cool. Nice to be here.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. As of right now, this is what I have:

    Mopar Stage 3 with toys
    AIS FMIC
    LFS 60 mm TB
    ported intake manifold
    Maxxfab S3 O2 housing
    Maxxfab DP w/ cat
    Mopar exhaust
Mopar drop in air filter + wires
    Maddog STS

I ran a 12.7 and a 12.8 on the last day at Commerce. Curious as to why my times are slower compared to other Stage 3 cars and to why my trap speed was low (112 mph), I did a boost leak test and found out I was leaking boost. That means theoretically I should do better when those leaks are taken cared of . Lazy me just finally tightened some clamps on the car earlier before the rain came and got 2 psi more boost (holding 21 psi now, 19 psi yesterday) so I'm heading in the right direction. As for how much boost I spiked, I didn't pay attention. The car will be seeing a dyno sometime this month when the boost leaks are all gone.

Hmm... I think that makes you the fastest... or at least potential to be the fastest SRT-4 on this site... I just hope that you don't share the same Evo/STi hatred that a lot of other Neon drivers have. =]

Pour in a few gallons of C16 and flip the HOM switch, I'm sure you'll pull some better times... and get a pair of drag radials or slicks.

ct9a gsr, no, no hatred for anyone just because of what they drive. All the folks I have met (Commerce, Silver Dollar, meets, etc...) after getting my car have been cool as hell . No C16 or leaded gas for me as I'm running a cat. Gotta keep them tree huggers happy.... well maybe for now, that is . I might be switching to a 3" catless side exit for weight reduction so who knows. The runs that I posted, I was running on slicks. 1.9 60' on both runs.

You didn't happen to spring a little leak on your car at Commerce did you ? I believe it was on the last day at Commerce? Huh? If so, I was on the left lane beside yours about 2-4 cars back. The blue SRT-4 that won the Showdown class at the last Import Showdown, he was there with me too that night. Us and that black SRT-4 w/black wheels, we seemed to be the regular SRT-4's at Commerce toward the end of the year. Anyways, he had told me that the blue Evo was a friend of his and it had some honorable mentions similar to his . The blue SRT-4 ended up breaking during his second run though.

efman, sorry, no car pics. It looks like any other red SRT-4 out there but with a big AIS FMIC and Mopar/Borla exhaust tips sticking out the rear.

My driving sucks ass. This is my first manual tranny so I'm still learning as I go. ~350 whp and ~360 wtq (estimated) do make quite of a distraction in the learning process but I'm loving it. I'm not going to try to be the fastest out anywhere or be the most this or that (most HP... oooh ) but if it does happen, it is what it is. Until then, another SRT-4 here said he ran a 12.2 with stock turbo no nitrous Stage 2 w/o toys so I am not the fastest SRT-4 here yet.

No, that wasn't me. I only raced at Commerce during Fast Friday's with the exception of one test and tune at Silver Dollar.

BTW, I just remembered that there is a video with my car in it that was filmed during a meet if anyone wants to look. It's nothing special but here is the vid. My car doesn't come into the video until around four minutes into it and there after. The first SRT-4 is fellow IA member Spike. I was running with HOM on and boost leak on .

as i have learned in modding cars at school bigger blow off valves act as a leak in turbo also bigger doesnt mean better or louder doesnt mean better so check your blow off valve i wouldnt do anything after market unless u gett bigger piping and also welcome

I'm running the Mopar BOV. It's not a real BOV but just a ricey noise maker aluminum plate. I won't know if I have any leaks from there until I make me another boost leak tester. The last boost leak tester I made broke apart after I tightened the clamps on the piping resulting in more boost holding.
