Anyone here running the AEM cop setup?

I was running twin fire. Aem epm and cbr coils. I loved it and reved perfect and clean.
FYI if u run a twin fire buy a extra. I had 2 go out on me. Good thing Aem warranties them.
Well, I'm running the v2 ems, epm(of course), and k-series coils directly. No twin fire. But I'm having problems cranking the engine. Of course they don't have base maps worth crap to start off with, but I have tried 2 different ones. Tailored the map to fit my setup as close as I can get it. While cranking, it sounds like its 180 out. I put the coil phasing how aem said to. But have read where ppl were saying the instructions are ass backwards. So I've tried it they way they said to. No dice! Would anyone have a map that I can try? Or have any knowledge of what may be going on?

Yea I'll get a map and send to you. The nipple that goes inside the cam shaft on epm flip it. Pull the pin out and turn it 180.I had that exact same problem.
Hell yeah!! Thanks! I was wandering if I had the drive gear 180. The instructions doesn't have a orientation as for what is the correct way.

Yea flip the key way also bolt it to the left side bolt. The one at 8 o clock, we bolted it to the top one 12 o clock and it was wrong. Also look on the laptop to make sure sync says on when turning car on or trying to turn on.
I have the mounting tab to the rear of the engine, and I get sync while cranking. I just need to try that drive gear. But this is a pic how I set mines up.

Once I get it running on the cop, there is a couple things that will change under the hood. Then the tune.. and hopefully nothing but good ole spirited driving after that.

Yea the Epm is in correct location, flip key way and let me know how it comes out for you. My maps wouldn't work on your car since I have 2200cc injectors and 5 bar map. I'll bet money it's the key way.
Yeah, that's just a few more CC of fuel than I need.. Might have to put everything back on and try it out tonight..

Let me ask you this, is the injector phasing and coil phasing the same in your setup?? As for 0,18,6,12. Or 12,6,18,0 phasing.. when I do get it running, trying to make it as good as I can before dyno time.

Send me your email address and ill forward you my map. You can change things as you need. I know we had to play with it alot. Devin with Aem helped us out alot to get car running.

You can do the cop on b/d/h and I think f..

you can do it with hondata also. I know of 1 or 2 locals that are gonna use that setup, and if it works out good i might do it to mine later on down the road

Naw you can do it on a stock motor, makes revs so much cleaner. But why would you spend the money to do on a stock car?
Glad I could help you get it running..![]()
I'm curious to see how the hondata one works out
If I did it over I would do the Aem ecu, k20 coils and Aem epm. You won't need a cdi box then.
from what i have read the hondata one seems to be working good, i just want to see first hand from my buddies, which his will be a 600+ turbo b series and mine is a high compression cammed h2b.

I looked at both systems. The tuner I use can tune whatever, so you have to take that into consideration. But when I mentioned doing a cop setup, he actually mentioned the Hondata setup. But I chose the AEM v2 because the ecu can drive the k-series coils directly. That is one less thing I have sitting in the car or malfunctioning, as my help here said he had a cdi box go out.
As for if the engine is stock or not, the setup is very clean looking and should clean up any ignition scenarios that had haunted me before. And this is what I had been wanting to do for a very long time. I modded the rywire coil harness to plug/play into the factory harness and made my own extension harness for the ecu end to do my pin out changes. I'm sure if I used Hondata that it would have been easier to get running, since of course its tailored for Honda's. Hope everyone else's goes good!!
