    Default question about gears

    ok 1st of all...the m2s4 tranny for my si lude works flawlessly...i plan on keeping to no matter what

    however i was wondering...would it make sense to get an Accord tranny for the longer gears?

    someone needs to clarify it for me about how gearing works if im wrong but the way i see it;

    i have shitty top end by greattt mid range power around 4.5-5.5K rpm...i hate it when i have to shift @ 6K rpm and wish my gears were a little bit longer so i can ride out mid range powerband a bit longer...h23 gears feel too short

    make sense?
    what do u guys think?

    Same thing as with a B series.

    Accord tranny ~~~~~> LS tranny

    Prelude Si tranny ~~~~~~> GSR/B16 tranny

    Did that make sense?

    so back to this question

    performance wise, if i was to mate the f22 tranny onto my engine(h23a1), the way i see it, duriing wot with long gears, my rpm will be sitting more often around 3-5K (where i make most of my power)
    which will ensure that at the "end" of each gear, ill come to a higher mph than my stock tranny...

    i think with longer gears in a NA setup, i could also increase the acceleration by advancing timing a tad bit, with proper supporting mods and more open flow which would compensate for the long gears... i think i can easily gain some power with this idea adding on to my current setup

    who wants to give me an input on this?
