    Default CAR WONT HOLD COOLANT?

hey IA, i have noticed that my if i take a short trip my overflow resevior will be full of coolant, and it will be boiling. so i swaped the engine thinking it could be a bad head gasket, and its still doing the same thing!!! the temp gauge seems to be working, and it never goes pass the half way mark. ive noticed that my radiator fans turns on for a short period of time then turns back off. i dont think im loosing any coolant. but one thing to note, is that i have the bypass on the thermostat plugged off because everything else was already connected (b16 head)
what else could it be? do i need a new temp sensor? a new thermostat? a new radiator?a new reservoir? hopefully not a head gasket? thanks for reading and for any help!

I dought it would be temp sensor, it could be the thermostat stuck close, not letting coolant flow through the motor causing it to dump back into reservoir

the guy i bought it from said it was put together with a new headgasket ( ls vtec). so hopefully i can rule that out. i also observed that where i plugged the thermostat bypass hose off has a slow drip.

The by-pass hose should look like the weird U shaped hose circled in red.
