Like I said, its probably not the locks themselves, but the electrical system. Yes, your going to have to get it towed. If you like the car, don't complain about problems. My last VW had electrical problems out the wazoo - ignition, headlights, a horn that would constantly beep, stereo problems, something staying on that was draining my battery, etc. If you aren't completely devoted to the car.... do like gtikid said... sell it.Originally Posted by Eurostunna07

When you do get it open check the wiring harness between the body and the door. You will have to probably cut the boot to repair the broken wires...and there most likely will be. Then get rid of it.
throw a spark plug threw the front window
actually you could probably climb through the trunk.....the boss brought back a cabrio from the auction and the lady was having problem with the door and she locked herself out of it too. supposedly the dealer has to code the key.
sell your car when you have a check engine light with codes pertaining to the TPS since the only way you can get it is by getting the whole throttle body assembly, then it has to go through a relearn LOL.
and or you have one of those magnificent 1.8T motors that sludge up right at 100k miles![]()
wow..I just got back from JIM ELLIS VW off 41 on cobb parkway..and they wanted 600 dollars + to fix the LOCK problem..and I had to pay 100 dollars for them just to check what tha hell was wrong..
They are not going to diagnose it for free dipshit, and if you listen to them you would know that if you get it fixed there diagnosis is free.Originally Posted by Eurostunna07
ugh im so pissed..imma file a complaint with VW tomorrow morning call them and also mail them my receipt.
you should go see francisco across the street from jim ellis. he's the young dude that works at vw tech....i did his sr swap. or you could go a little farther down airport industrial and look on the left and i'll take a look at it
check the vac. pump. Sometimes those go bad. My jetta had the same problem. It had vac locks instead of electric.
need CA$H? I WILL BUY YOUR STUFF OF VALUE.... PM ME WHATCHA GOT!
jim ellis vw is fuckin sheisters, i can walk 200 feet from my shop to there. when my boss took his auction car 02 cabrio over there to get another key coded they tried to run game on him and said it'd take a couple hours to do, he sat there and walked around to the car after 15 minutes and the key and the spare remote that he got for it were both programmed. all in all they're not honest at all. off memory the key's like $36 our cost and .5 hr labor to program it for the vehicle. they were trying to sell him a lock cylinder and all that shit. ANYWHO
i would recommend get a new key and have it coded, meaning the car's gotta be there.

may have been our particular service writer/technician, to generalize the whole dealership may be a little harsh, but you're the first person i've heard out of 10+ that have said anything GOOD about their experience there. *shrug
been a couple months *shrug...
YOU were the lying technician weren't you!! ^_^![]()
No Im not a technician anymore. I have not been there that long. Who was your advisor? I have not been there long but I know what Im doing and I have never seen anyone get ripped off by an advisor but as far as the techs telling the advisor the car need something it doesn't I wouldnt know.
