    No, and No.

The best swap for your car is a 4G63T from an EVO IV or newer. Or just spend like $1500 and turbo your motor....they're super cheap to replace if you blow it.

lol thats what i thought.. but that would be bad as hell if it would fit.. lol

i was thinking an evo motor.. then the question of the transmission came up.. i dont want to switch it over to AWD.. which would cost wat too much.. sub frame swap.. diff, half-shafts.. all that shit.. but i cant find a FWD tranny that'll hook up to the 4g63 and has low miles that'll work in my car.. idk.. i'll prolly just turbo the 4g93.. which is whats in a lancer right? i've seen different things for a the 03 OZ lancers..

A 6g72 tt is not the best way to go. The 3000GT is a common 6 cylinder TT but i have seen and heard of people doing it to the 6g72 in the 3g Eclipse. It did do well over 300 horses but lots of modding were done just to do it. The easiest swap would be a 6g72 Eclipse engine and buy a custom turbo from this guy (Tearstone) at Tearstone performance http://tearstone.com/shop/ It's a sweet custom turbo specifically for that engine. This is a pic of Russ's 3G w/ well over 350+ horsepower.

Thats lame. Blow all you're money and still be slow.

I knew there was something up with this guy when I mentioned a 16g and he thought I made up a turbo or something.

All you have to do is use the EVO tranny. Have someone weld the center diff, then just make a simple block off plate to cap the rear output hole. SNAP, 4G63T FWD.

You are correct, you have a 4G93. There are tons of turbo manis for them on eBay all the. Then you'd just need a turbo, some injectors, an SAFC2, an intercooler piping kit, an intercooler, some cutoms oil lines, and a custom made downpipe.

You could probably get everything for under $1500.

I'd still rather go with the EVO though. It'll cost a lot more, but you'll have a reliable 300hp.

There's no way in hell that this is "the easiest swap." The EVO engine bolts right in.

1G/2G eclipse trannies will work with EVO I-III motors. But that setup won't work in a Lancer or 5th Gen Mirage (97-01). They can only use EVO IV+ or the 4G64 from Galant/Eclipse(3G), or MAYBE the V6 from the 3G Eclipse. Anything else is an expensive waste of time.

as of the EVO4 they fliped the motor over to run like the EVO8 here in the states. So the Evo 1-3 all have the tranny on the same side as the eclipse, and use the same motor(well the 6-bolts). But as of the EVO4 the motor was swaped around so that the tranny was on the opp side. I want to say if memory is correct, the tranny would be on the driver side for the EVO4+. Same reason the 97+ mirage can't use the eclipse motor as a bolt in, motor is on the wrong side.

    Hope that answer you question.

A 3g eclipse (00-04) tranny will fit on an Evo8 motor, and it has been done. A guy in Cali swaped an Evo8 motor into his 8g Galant and used a 3g eclipse 5-speed tranny and everything works fine. The eclipse motor was fliped in 99 so it sits the same as the Evo motor

hebeat me posting that!! But heres a idea get a kit from Road Race Engineering or you can get a 4g64 (7 bolt) bottom end from 99on eclipse or Galant,Weisco pistons, stock 4G64 rods which can hold 350hp safe,or some Eagle rods, complete Evo8 head(with injectors, inake mani, exhuast mani, cam gears, finally get a 94 Galant DOhc timing belt and bam you have a built 300hp+ OZ (depending on what size turbo you go with..a 16g is fine) The 6g72 motor from the 3g is way to heavy for your car not to add probaly too big!!
Either way it goes boost that bitch.Dont listen to the haters on here telling you not to turbo your car.Especially 1439/2000 he thinks a VR4 Galant is the worlds fastest car!!!A 30 to 70%hp increase in any car is going to be fun as hell!Good luck.."Being different is good"

What's so bad about SOHC, it has less rotating mass and Inertia than a DOHC motor, and The DOHC heads won't fit on our motors, the Distributor will not bolt in.

4g63T would be better in a Lancer. 6G72 is to big imo for that engine bay.
