    Default B16 KNOCK SENSOR!!! WTF!!!

Okay... yall know how LAZY I am... NEway. I jacked up the EF 2night and located my broken knock sensor. PLEEZ tell me there is an easier way of getting to this guy w/out taking off the intake mani. It is a B*TCH to get to. Anybody got some insider tips on removing and replacing this? It seems like it may be a TAD easier if I remove the oil filter --> she's due for some more Royal Purple anyway. LMK.

LOL hate it when that sensors need attention but im sure you know you dont have to completely remove the IM. just unbolt it and slide it towards the firewall. Should give you enough clearanceto fit a wrench , BTW if u have a paper IM gasket i would replace it ( i knwo you said you didnt want to take it off , this way it isnt completely off)

Naah, I would never run paper for that gasket. Grrrrrr!!!! I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow... LOL. It seems reachable from the bottom (w/ jackstands) if I remove the oil filter... have you ever tried that way?

i find it easier taking the head off... and then just moving it... its a 30mm..... you will get aggrivated doing it from the bottom, and even still its easier to take the head off than taking just the intake manifold off.... its a bitch, but ive done it enough times to know..

I dint have to go thru that exteme just to take the knock sensor out!^^^
I use a deepwell socket,swevel,2 extentions, and a rachet to get mines out --- from the bottom. No problems!!

Yeah... I was thinking that I will NOT be removing the entire head just for the sensor. At the MOST partially lifting up on the IM... but DEF not the head.

well i am running a obd-0 block and my 30mm socket is too thick and hits the water inlet pipe, thats why i am forced to do it this way. but getting it from the bottom works too.
