    But what other mods are these guys running?

    I would really like to see, the same car with only chip ( diffrent brands ) go a it and see.

    once you start adding other mods I think is diffrent.

    all of the top cars are running bt, naws, slicks, interior, and custom setups, so software brand at that point is pointless... if i was going BT i would simply run standalone and i know for a fact any local shop her could build a 11sec 1.8t w/o major brand software, but then again $ = everything.

    out of the box software + bolt ons, i haven't seen a more aggressive software then GIAC and that includes all 4 major brands (as well as APR race program) and its dyno proven to be more bang for the buck.

    In all honesty, from what I can see, APR kits make your car fast, but Adam Ds GTI w/ GIAC is the quickest on stock snail,
    I think its safe to say drivers win close races more than cars.

    everything is driver for sure in racing, but power is power... for the normal 1.8t tuner who will only spend under 5k on his ride, GIAC takes the win. sorry but i go by the numbers, i've seen first hand every single chip make on the same dynojet and guess who is still making more power... yup. also from what i know and what was posted on vortex when i questioned about it i got pretty much the highest numbers and definately highest here... and i don't even have everything done i can do

    shit look at i made stock k03 220+whp/280+lbs julio w/ a stock k04 + giac alone he makes 220whp/270lbs and it will make more... and john w/ stg III + apr made 260whp/290lbs... so bang for buck? i'm not knocking his setup, he by far should have the fastest 1.8t around here, but numbers for $ GIAC wins!

    lol na i actually forgot the exact number i figure it was close, i est mine/julio numbers for the same both of us have over what i posted

    and i agree:

    giac = k03/k04
    revo = custom BT
    APR = APR BT kit

    i still laugh about the VW scene b/c its very very slow as far as tuning goes... they just hit 10s this year w/ the 1.8t , it only took them 6 years on this motor to do it. i think if some more japanese oriented companys started working on these euro platforms we would be way further ahead then were we are. its hard enough to find a good shop to work on your euro let alone tune/build one

    My 209.6 and 259.2 w/ APR 100 oct and a Arospeed ""P-flow wanna-be" was nothing to sneeze at though, nor was a 14.1 w/ this set up at 100.00 mph. Ive seen more power run way slower.
    In the end get what you want, Paul wants GIAC, and you to have it too, I am an APR fan, nothing against GIAC except cost.(I was quoted $750 for the same chip I got for less than $500 from APR)

    i don't know where you ever got quoted 750 for giac b/c the pump program is 500, i don't know a single person who paid 750 unless they have a selector box w/ multistage program. actually i've gotten guys deals on here as low as 1/2 price.

    i've dyno'd with every chip even the race apr best i've seen anyone else do was 210/254(apr race + bolt ons) unless they have giac... that is on the same dyno as me so there isn't any discrepancy on those numbers. i make the most i have yet to see a higher dyno including on vortex for k03

    Some dude at EPG quoted me that before he realized I already had APR, I wanted stock, 93,100 oct programs. (It wasnt Brian)

    The only "proof" I have is a pic and also Adam D was standing there w/ his jaw on the ground when I did dyno mine....I wish I'd redyno'd it w/ exhaust , DP, FMIC, N75 Race, stronger clutch, and all the little BS I had addded. I must have had the freak APR car. I dyno'd at dynolab btw, It was a dyno day I set up for Durties in like Dec 03.

    i'm not disputing your #'s but we all know every dyno is different, i've done 2 euro dyno days at batlground and always the same i will say i've been lucky to be able to have access to a nice dyno whenever i want so i can tell you down to the part what does what

    every dyno will give diff numbers. i have seen a dyno show + 30whp more than another one same car same mods. if you wanna see your real numbers find a mustang dyno

    I dont mind using GIAC/EPG, its just as close to get and if the price is right I am good. The thing that always kills me is GIAC and APR are SOOO close, APRs competitors always bash APR....so its about association to me, and I dont generally support companies that bash others to get ahead, Its a losing strategy. (Brian never has himself in my presence....a punk kid that worked there did, and I wont hold EPG responsible for his ignorance)
    I'll let you know, I am neck deep in wheel ads trying to settle that first.

    well from what i know there is some beef between APR and EPG, this goes way back from what i know i was told there was some type of confrontation between the two like APR starting shit w/ Brian. now i heard this 2nd hand from a old EPG supporter so i can not say for 110% what exactly happened. I will check for you greg and let ya know.

    I had heard EPG was gonna be an APR dealer, but there was a prob, therefore makin EPG feel screwed, so the only brand left at that point that had a close following was GIAC, so thats the force drivin them. I actually DO understand that feelin, I was just on the otherside...but I am over all that BS...
    Its all good, I just need more power, and since the car needs 91 oct minimum, (which means 93 in GA) I may as well chip it and make that fuel earn its value.

    well actually i heard something quite different to the affect of someone trying to start physical shit w/ brian so that was the breaking point.

    Well im not saying anything bad about either brand, however i heard this from someone, so dont hold it to me, its just what i heard. I heard that GIAC's technology was orginally ripped off from APR technology, and then they tweaked it. Nothing against GIAC, i have it in my car and its not giving me much trouble (just some surging issues that started with the X+), but when i had their socket type chip it was the smoothest and very powerful chip that I have ever felt
