Speedminded, that doesnt have to do with octane rating and why an s2000 can make alot on pump gas..

sr20det is 8.5 to 1(8.3 in the pulsar is even better) compression. Lower compression = better for turbo. Also its 202hp at the break. Not 160.

Higher compression (s2000)= Lower boost, more power result because of the strung out motor.240 at the break, not at the wheel, with much high compression.

Now, you can turn up the boost substiatially with an SR stock because of the compression. Once you've turboed an s2000 you cant boost up unless youve built it.

Lower compression-1g DSM 7.8 to 1 compression. Slap a big turbo on and go. Thats why most 6 bolt 4g's can put out alot of power with stock internals.

Smae with the turbo buicks. With that setup the pigs can just turn up the boost substantially before cracking open the valve cover.
