stock gsr < ls/vtec.......mildly built gsr (mines in other words) > ls/vtec

put it this way, it all depends on what u got in your motor! i know i wont lose to no mildly built gsr when i get done....he gonna have to bring the pain! LoL.....1600 i think is too low to build a good ls/vtec, but thats just my opinion....u might be able to pull it off, btw are u building this yourself? or installing it yourself?

lol, are you calling me out antwan? but yeh $1600 should be enough to build a decent ls/vtec, got mines built awhile back for around 1200 consisting of pr3 pistons, ITR cams, dc sport headers, b&m fuel pressure regulator, dc sports catback, vtec controller, p72 ecu, j1 LSD tranny, and the rest OEM parts. My friend that owns a shop down south owed me some favors so if you're wondering how I get all that for so cheap.

I'd end up spending $1,600 in machine work just on the head if i were to do it It can definitely be done though but i like things done right the first time.

do you have a LS motor already, or are you looking to start from scratch.

with $1600 you can buy a GSR longblock

and im JUST like speedminded ima get the shit done right the first time, head completely built and dropped on a ls/vtec ready block! lol......but if u got the hookups then 1600 should be enough......

we can do a LSVTEC swap for this much:

    VTEC HEAD:$400
VTEC ECU:$180 or $100-150 if its OBD2 (UBERDATA CHIPPED if its OBD1)
    GE CONVERSION LSVTEC KIT:$200(includes headgasket)
    VTEC DIZZY:$100-150
    LABOR:$600
worse case scenario, youll have to make sure you have a intake manifold and TB to go with it, so that may be a TAD more money. this doesnt include replacing the timing belt or waterpump. something you may want to do.

JDM94coupe, if he does and LSVTEC, he still has the shitty LS tranny, no way around it.

    SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:
GSR IS MORE RELIABLE AND MAKES MORE POWER THAN AN LSVTEC (STOCK VS STOCK)

since you already have an LS longblock you can prob do this:
Buy a GSR longblock for $1500 (you can find them all day long)
sell your LS LONGBLOCK for $600-700 if its in good shape.
Use the remaining money to swap the GSR longblock in. And all youll need to do is find a VTEC ECU.

little bit longer, and you have to find someone to purchase the LS longblock, but if your patient you can do it, choice is yours.

if your LS has high mileage, its a time bomb if you want to rev it to 8200rpms all day long (STOCK VTEC REDLINE).

i never understood why people want to spend that much money on a lsvtec, when you cant take advantage of VTEC cause of the weaker LS bottom end.

dude the swap is a waste of time and money...everyone should know by now that those freaking motors dont last due to the non high reving capabilities the motors have..your just wasting cash down the pee whole...hey and about a h22 someone mentioned it is already proven a fact that on the long run an b18 can out perform a h22...well let me take that back i mean they perform just the same meaning the b18 has as much potential as a h22...:jerkit:...

i love the lil b16 that could
anyway with a LS tranny ( if you have one) almost any Si or GSR car will be able to take you in 3rd gear or by 3rd gear.

vteckidd... the only reason why i am going to do the ls/vtec swap is because i have a ls motor in my car and i want to go have vtec....... it is either i am going to do ls turbo or ls/vtec turbo...
