Built KA-T all day long, as long as you do it right, you need good fuel and timing control. Without that, KA-Boom, even on a built motor. All of our stock internal KA-T's have been faster than many SR's with an exception, you know who you are, and definitely faster than the RB's, excluding the 26. RB20's are cheaper swaps than SR20's, RB25's are just a waste, might as well build you a KA-T, My RB20 vert walks 25's easy. Any built motor is going to be better than a stock boosted motor. Do what you want, you'll have plenty of fun with any of the Nissan powerplants, built or not.
