    Default my fuel pump is flooding my carburetor

    help!i have an 82 accord and fuel pump was replaced by previous owner....it runs but it pumps to much fuel into my carburetor and floods

    You need to check the float.

    i was thinking that but the carburetor is new/newly rebuilt!

    You have an adjustment for the level of fuel that sits in the bowl..

    Look into the little window and post back where the level is..

    do i have to buy a FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR? the previous owner put the new fuel pump

    or do i need a relay...relay switch or i think its called fuel pump relay ..or regulator ..idk?

    some one help!!

    i got the car running but too much fuel from the pump and idk if the previous owner didnt install right its connected straight to the fuse box?

    Have you checked the Psi from the pump? Not gonna be much, I'd guess 2-5psi.

    Sell the car to someone who knows carbs.

    A relay isn't going to fix your problem. If the pump is working, a relay isn't the answer.


    IF the carb is flooding, it's because the float is stuck and/or sunk in the float bowl. Meaning it either has a whole punched in it, and it's filled with gas and not floating when the bowl is full, or the float needle is stuck.

    Just because its a rebuilt carb doesn't mean its adjusted right. Honestly just pay someone that knows carbs to look at it. Assuming it has the correct fuel pump (low pressure) then the only thing that controls fuel level into the carb essentially is the float. So if its flooding thats the first place to look. If youre living in fear, just take it to someone.

    Does garage zero work on carbs?
