Scoop him up while he is still confused and put an rb20 in his car quickly before he knows what hit him.

Well if he searches the internet he will realize that the rb20 is handsdown the best possible motor you can put in a 98 240sx.

I know this is what you guys are always getting all fired up about, but it seems to me that you can make more power with an RB without working the engine as hard. Am I right? If so, then what are the downfalls . . . weight/agility?

maybe you missed something, putting an rb20 into anything besides an s12 or maybe a z31 is a complete waste of a good car. you know what even putting an rb20 into an s12 would be wrong, since a redtop botls straight in and makes more power.

actually your wrong, you can make 300whp on an rb25 with a ball valve and a fmic. its not a good idea but you could do it. in fact there was an rb25 making like 700whp and the guy hadnt even touched the motor yet. as for the 26 how dare you say such things. the guts of that bad boy are good to like 600+whp, the turbos arent but everything else is.

I know of a local car with an sr20det with stock t25, fmic, exhaust, and boost controller.

    Made 300whp.

i'd like to see a 300whp stock T25 car. that dyno graph would be hilarious. pushing the stock T25 that hard is almost as retarded as an RB20 swap.

I saw the car dyno with my own eyes.....he's not bullshitting, and you know I'm the first to wave the BS flag.

I don't have the graph for that run as my clutch started slipping. But as you saw, plenty of people saw that dyno. The car makes the power smoothly and it doesn't die off or anything.

Actually you're wrong. Let me know when you wrench on any of the above motors because I've got 3 motors apart, and the pistons with busted ringlands to prove it. I'll post pics if you'd like! 600+whp on a 26 is bullshit power. Whats the big deal about 600+whp when supras make 800whp on the stock motor? What I'm simply telling you is that the pistons are JUNK in the RB motors, and that's not a "claim" its a FACT. The rods are great though. They're nice and short/stubby from the super short stroke, so that part of the motor is fine. Please call some of the tuners in AUS that I work with, and they'll tell you the exact same thing. I'm not talking making power on the stock shit. I already know the 25 can make 300whp on the stock setup, it's been done to death! Infact, Dan just did one a few weeks ago that did that very same thing! It's nothing new. I tune these cars all the time and I know what they're capable of. That's pretty interesting claims on the 25 considering the pistons are cast and are complete junk, so I wanna see this "stock" 25 motor making 700whp, LOL. Lemme guess, all he has is headstuds and a headgasket, right? LOL. The standard pistons will not take the kind of boost levels needed to attain 700whp, I dont care how much fuel you have in it. Please...I love to hear the bullshit claims people make. I wanna see people put up or shut up. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna post a thread on the Skylines forums titled "Stock RB motor good to 700whp/522rwkw?" and see what kind of responses I get from everyone, this should be interesting...

Oh, another bench racer. The internet doesn't harness the truth all the time, so maybe you shouldn't live by it.
