Default 115,000 Miles, should I replace the Timing Chain?

So I just bought my 2003 S2K and it has 115,000 miles. Should I go ahead and replace the timing chain or do I not have to replace the chain? I am kind of new to the timing chain thing.
    Thanks!!!

Life begins at 6000 RPMS.. You will notice an audible change in engine noise, large increase in acceleration and any female passengers will immidiately start to remove their clothing.

timing chains last a long time. don't service it unless you hear unusual noises from it. 115k on the chain is a baby. I have seen a 180k+ s2000 with a comptech supercharger (put on since 40K) with original chain.

only known issues i am aware of is the timing chain tensioner...mine started making a strange noise for 15 minutes on cold startup. not sure if there is a TSB for it but mine got changed around 60k under warranty. at 67k now on a 2003 ap1.

The timing chain itself is designed to last the life of the engine. Just check the tensioner.

x2 ....never seen a timing chain break on stock engine....EVER

what makes you think that it might need to get replaced in the first place?

^ Just didnt know if chains were like belts because I know if my S2K were a belt, it would be over-due.

one of the main advantage of having a chain over a belt is to not have to worry about it breaking. it will eventually make erratic noises when the shoe on the tensioner wears down...but unless your car is making noise then you probably do not need to change it out or even worry about it
