    Default BMW question

Ok my boss has a1998 548i? (i think...) BMW and his upper radiator hose keeps popping off while hes driving as soon as the car gets warmed up which he says is after about 10 mins at the most. he says the temp gauge runs hot then the hose pops off and throws his coolant everywhere, what would cause this?says he has no heat eithe but hard to tell if the car was only running for 10 mins everytime befoe this happened not enough time for heat IMO

For this I'm not sure the radiator fan is not electrical but mechanical it moves with the motor

    It's either a 528i or or 540i.

Check his radiator endtank inlet. Those are plastic and tend to crack over time.

He doesn't have heat because his coolant system needs to be bled.

Check his thermostat housing. Some of the thermostat housings are plastic. If it's plastic, it's probably broken. If it's aluminum, his radiator hose probably has a split in it.

and this would cause the engine to run hot and his radiator hose to pop off?

I imagine his engine is running hot because his radiator hose is popping off.

perhaps, but it might be running hot and then the coolant is getting too hot causing too much pressure in the hose and blowing it off? idk thats why im seeking guidance

I'd say bad thermostat and its building up to much pressure. I think the thermostat and housing are built all together if i'm not mistaking and are purchased as one piece (I know a lot of bmw's are like that anyways) and most of the time advance auto parts can have it next day if ordered early enough. Just talk to someone who know what they are talking about. That's where I would personally start anyways.
