    Default 98' Civic EX Problem

I have a problem with this car because when I shift into 2nd gear it sometimes goes into gear and when I drive slow on 2nd gear it pops out.
When I shift into 3rd gear it grind. You know when you shift normal into gear, When I do that into 3rd gear it grinds but when I wait about a 2 or 3 secs and then shift into 3rd it doesnt grind. My civic does have an acura transmission and it has 99,xxx miles on it. Also the motor is tweaked, the car was given to me from my cousin. Thanks To Anyone with advice

Integra and Civic trannys are interchangeable.

You guys know there are civics that came with B series engine's right?

And the new civic has a VERY similar engine to the RSX type-s.

anyway. yeah your tranny needs work and the synchros and springs on em should be replaced. it can be cheaper to get a good used tranny that wasnt beaten on.

That 2-3 second wait...during that time the speed of the hub, synchro and shaft are all 'synchronizing'. The synchro is like a little brake pad to match the RPM of the shaft and synchro hub. Good synchros will be able to do this no problem. If the tranny was shifted on very very fast and harshly, the teeth will get gnarled on the hub and not allow it to engage smoothly or even at all if it gets real bad.
