    Can anybody tell me how to install a short shifter into a 99 civic si?

    No you dont, they are easy as fuck, too easy to even explain. Just get the car in the air, unbolt the shifter (two bolts). Move the shift link around the exhaust and shit. And change the shifter! its easy to figure out. If you're not that far away i'll come help, I need something to do!

    he's right, its easy as hell, but if you still have your stock exhaust and heat shield then you might have to take it off due to clearance problems. Necessarily you might not have to but its going to be hard as hell to drop the shifter if its still there. And don't forget to make sure you have them little tiny washers or whatever that goes in on both sides of the shifter on the bottom where it connects to the shift linkage.

    damn ya'll lucky asses. i have cable shift so i had to remove like my console and half my dash to get mine in there.
