    Default gs300 cam cap torque specs?

    i know theres some toyota/lexus mechanics on here?

    a cam cap is not torqued to anything... it just sits over the spring and valve and the cam rotates on top of it.

    now if you're talking about the clearance between the cam cap and the cam when the valve is closed then thats different and they are measured in the 1/1000ths of an inch. if they were out of tolerance you would replace the shim on top of the cap with a thicker or thinner shim accordingly

    I believe he is talking about what bolts the cam to the head.

    sorry for the condusion man, my bad...shoulda known you meant that and not the buckets. if memory serves me right its 15 ft/lbs but check me on it, dont want you to snap one accidentally

    yea just put some money in gettin the head seviced....not to mention how hard it would be to find another head and have to go through the whole process again.

    Install and uniformly tighten the 14 bearing cap bolts on one side, in several passes, in the sequence shown. Torque: 20 Nm (200 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
    Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, the 2 No.3 camshaft bearing cap bolts. Torque: 5.0 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.)

    make sure to do it in the proper sequence.

    inside to out...thats the only way to seal anything.. Especially a head!
