    Default first time nitrous guy...

    application-s2000, for occasional drag strip use. mods-intake,exhaust,test pipe. waiting for vtecFAGkidd to get the f20c header out already so i can have that too.


    ok. looking at ZEX 82011 dry kit. their site has it for $560ish
    ebay has it for $485 free shipping. lookin to get it within a month.

    either way, im a complete noob to nitrous. i want to go this route bc it is the most cost effective way to make power. im not going turbo or supercharger, the money isnt there and this has to remain a dd. the only thing i know is the difference between wet/dry/direct. i chose dry for ease of installation. im not THAT mechanically inclined.

    tips/advice/suggestions/discuss?

    A dry kit will be fine. Just follow the directions carefully. I would suggest investing in a bottle pressure gauge, if the kit doesn't come with one. Don't get too aggressive with the jets on pump gas, and always run 93 octane minimum.

    always go with a wet kit, If you don't your gonna be relying on your stock injectors to supply more fuel by way of increased line pressure. I don't know about you but I like to know i'm getting enough fuel when i'm on the bottle. Your also gonna need a bottle warmer and a guage. Never spray under 3000 rpms and anything less then full throttle. It would be a good idea to run 93 octane fuel too. I wouldn't go over a 100 shot on the stock s2000 motor, 75 should be plenty for what your wanting to do....pm me if you have any questions

    You will burn one up by having too much fuel, before you will ever burn one up from being lean. It takes fuel to make a fire. The inexperienced shouldn't be giving advise about things they don't know.

    i HIGHLY reccomend using NOS brand, i can think of about 8 diffrent places within 30min of my house to get anything from solenoids, lines, jets etc...in case of a failure, nobody really carries zex stuff/nx. get it tuned with the spray and you'll be fine, an s200 from hondata has a built in nitrous controller, automatically retards timing and adds fuel as needed on the fly. if you run a mds6al or digital 6 you can set the hondata to respond to it, meaning you can wire your full throttle switch (only way to go) to the mds box so even though your full throttle off the line it will only spray within a certain rpm range. personally here is how mine is set up.

    im running hondata s300
    msd digital 6
    pro race fogger/direct port NOS of course
    i have an arming switch, activates my full throttle switch, switch does not get power until i hit 3200rpm. spray comes in at 3200rpm and drops off at 8200rpm, motor revs to 9000, that way you can't over rev on spray (not good) get some slightly bigger injectors and i belive even s100 has a built in nitrous controller. alot of ppl don't like spray, in the end it's cheap, more reliable/dependable than any turbo set up and makes just as much power.

    thanks for the advice everyone. i looked at the kpro. pretty pricey. for about the same price, i would rather use the AEM brand.

    ill keep saving, rather do it the right way and get it tuned.

    Edit* AND if your going over 75 DON'T get a dry shot please. I wouldn't even do 75 on dry. You will hear MANY people telling you that dry worked FINE on there application. But you don't want to be part of that group that didn't enjoy it.

    hondata will allow your car to start and idle like stock. aem will too, but it's a little more touchy than hondata. i think aem works great on a lot of cars, but hondata works better on hondas.

    ill take that advice when it comes to tuning program selection for sure. especially if it comes from the honda tuning master, lol. i figured since aem was just tried and true, had a solid reputation, that it would be best. but if hondata is more expensive, and you get what you pay for, then that is what i will get down the road.

    doubt you remember, or you probably had similar cars, but you did my red crx si with a jackson racing/d16z6. made 170whp. probably 2 years ago lol.

    Ive been debating it back and fourth aswell, if your looking for engine management i recommend the Emanage Ultimate personally. Some say it doesnt compare to AEM but i really like it.
