you could do it the right way with expenisve ass coilovers and what not or you could be a real man and cut the springs in half and eventually ride on your blown springs. its your call
I asked a girl if i could buy her a drink, she said I have a boyfriend, so I said, well i have a goldfish, she said what? I replied, oh I'm sorry I thought we were talking about shit that doesnt matter.

If you want cheap and don't care about how it rides, get ebay coilovers. 50 bucks, tops.

its not slammed unless you can hang your hand out the window and scrape your nuckles on the ground, its not slammed unless you have speed bumps in your nightmares, its not slammed if you never have to change your oil pan, its not slammed unless allignment places just shake their head when they see you, its not slammed unless your tires have wires sticking out the inside and the outside has almost 80% tread left. OTHERWISE ITS JUST LOWERED

even high end quality suspensions cant go that low......

if you really wanna be slammed for cheap cheap. buy some ebay coilovers, take the springs cut them in half and install winded all the way up and work your way from there.

cutting the springs work too but its a one shot kind of thing and dont waste stock springs, what if you wanted to go back to stock after bouncing your a$$ off? lol

lol - there is no right way or wrong way to slam a car. There are BAD ways, and better ways get what you want. The ultimate measure of success is what your goal was in the first place.

If you just want it low as all get out and don't care about your chassis longevity or ride quality, and just want a sick looking car; then just get some eGay stuff and call it a day.

If you want your car to ride well, handle better, and look sweet doing it - then save your pennies and buy some big ballin damper kit.

There is more to a car than how it looks sitting in a parking lot, how it looks while it's dynamically engaged is where it's at IMO.

dont be a pussy, just cut the springs in half.

EDIT: that way youll always have a spare set of springs if the first half give out.

Taking springs out = best way, then you have the softer struts to smoothen the ride. We do it on our track cars.

i dont even think he would be able to get the jack from under that car if he did that, let alone if it would sit high enough to drive.

but the main question is, do you want to have to think about speed bumps and how to approach them, does the thought of something just being .5 higher being able to stop you bother you, or do you like to plan you trip around which roads have pot holes and which ones have rail road tracks that MAY be too high? if you answered yes to any of these questions, then a true slam is not for you.

Is this really done? Thats crazy.

And to the OP, taking the springs out probably is your best way to slam your car on the cheap. I know a guy that rode around like that for quite awhile. Its not comofortable but it works.

    Omni's

A slammed car doesn't ride as bad as everyone says it does, unless you have some terribly shitty cheap suspension. My hatch rode pretty good until my axle broke

FUCK GRAN TURISMO EAST!! NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR THERE, ESPECIALLY NOT FOR AN ALIGNMENT!! TERRIBLE BUSINESS!!

You can have a normal suspension and be slammed. VW guys do it once and a while only because its very labor intensive. Involves reworking strut towers, doing fab on steering knuckles and tie rods and cutting wheel wells of course.

Go here and look at what he does. -----> http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2770304

I would get H&R Ultra Low Set Coil-Over. It lower your car 3.0-5.0 in. that should made your car nice and low.

I never like the slammed look. It changes the geometry of the suspension too much for me. I would never go lower than 2-2.5in my rides.
