Looking for an '08 Ninja 250R
i posted this in the WTB section but i figured that i might get more help in this section...
im looking to purchase the 08 Ninja 250R as a beginner bike...if anyone is selling one, knows of someone selling one, or knows of some places that have a few in stock...let me know, cuz i know they are pretty tough to come by these days. Also, if its a black one that would be perfect, but other colors are fine as well...Thanks in advance

i asked one of the guys at motions about getting one & he said if i was serious about buying one I would need to get approved for financing & put my name down on the waiting list and i MIGHT be able to get one by next spring.

yeah ive seen them going for 5500 - 6000 on ebay allll day... which BLOWS because you could buy TWO at msrp for that price
yea seriously...its ridiculous...just like when the PS3s and Xbox's came out...people knew they were hard to find and shot up the prices like crazy

I have a friend who's wife just bought a black 08 250R a couple months ago but she feels like she's outgrown the bike and wants a 600 or 750 so I'll tell him to come here and PM yall. He's not a member but I know his wife is definitely wanting a faster bike. I don't know if they're ready to sell though.

Nah, haven't found one yet. Seen a couple on Craigslist but don't really want the blue or green colors. I know i shouldn't let color sway me, but i would really rather have a black or red 250. I'm not in too much of a hurry to buy, so i'm just staying patient now...

hows it feel and ride? i've ridden my friends '06 gixxer 600...just wondering how the 250 feels in handling, responsiveness, size, etc. as compared to 600cc bikes.
A 250 is way easier to ride than a 600. They lean & flick faster, and require less guesswork going in and out of corners.
As far as size, the seat is a few inches lower than a 600cc and the bike is more narrow
as far as handling and such just the same if not better. I can stick corners just as well as my buddy with his 08 kawa 600.
you pretty much always ride in 5th or 6th tho I catch my self looking for 7th gr ALOT haha. I love it tho my first bike i owned upgrading next summer to hopefully a 08 R6
i read they are pretty much sold out for 2008.
Compared to a 600 you sit lower and your not leaned over as much so its not as much of a sport bike feel but it is with out doubt the way to start on a bike .

there is a black Ninja sittin up at Cycle City for sale. Apparently it has 400 miles on it.
They apparently cancled the remaining orders for this year and are going to order 09s now. So whoever is on the waiting list for an 08 is getting the 09s so it may even be impossible to get an 09 at this point. They are very easy to get in the midwest though, for some reason noone wants them up there.
the bike is not gonna get up and go like a 600 ss, but it should be very easy to handle and it does sit a little lower. If your learning to ride its a great bike. Id like to buy one just to rip the track up on.

i have a 2008 black ninja 250 with 1300+ miles on it. i love this thing, but for a guy like me (265lbs) this is NOT enough power.
I financed mine so, after taxes and everything, the pay off is right around 5000, so if you got 4500, ill put up the rest and you can get mine.
All service has been done, and it has a brand new clutch---
( i was learning and burned it up---$935.67 mistake)
this is a great bike to ride on, and i've got it up to 100 mph on 316. its plenty fast for a beginner. im just toooooooo big for this ****.
so, im going up to NY to get a 02 gsxr 600 from my cousin who was just locked up for 5 yrs!
