Are yellow headlights "the actual bulbs" legal in GA?

Ive been searching but I cant get a direct answer. All I get is saying that yellow headlight assemblies are illegal, but not the acutal bulbs. Will appreciate answers before I waste $10 bucks.

they are illegal only in fayette county i got a 56 dollar ticket for them.... every where else cops wont bother you..... but the down side when it rains you can't see sh!t

There is no law saying headlights have to be a certain color. The law only says it has to be visible from a certain distance and it can't cause glare. With that said, changing your headlight bulbs for color is retarded.

Exactly, Yellow is for FOG, Hence why they go in the "Foglight" assembly. Yellow Cuts through fog where white reflects. Thats why you dont put your high beams on in the fog.

There is no state law on headlight color other than a) they can not have any covering over them, ie: lamin-x, "nite-shades", etc. and b) the bulbs can't be blue or red.

The color of headlights is a federal law set forth by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the color has to be between two certain values on the color/K° spectrum scale. Good luck figuring that out without a spectrometer to analyze the wavelengths and all the other properties of light! LOL!

The color of all lighting equipment covered in this title shall be in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Standard J578 April 1965 as thereafter revised or amended.

i had yellow headlight bulbs in my integra and never had any problems with the cops except them asking me "when im gonna get some real bulbs" but other than that no problems

It doesnt say anything about yellow headlights in the code book! It says , Blue,red,Green,amber....Nothing about Yellow...I had Yellow ones for long time even in Fayet an know problems! well down here in houston county cops really dont care about that. ive had 10K HID's for about a years now and never got pulled over. but yeah down here they dont care maybe up there, but it really just matters what mood the cop is in

(to amd civic) yes you will, the cheap ass walmart "bulbs" don't do shiit, and those are the ones they are talking about, plus if you are worried switch the beam to regular...get the high low kit. I have past many cops, even followed some cops...they wont pull you, I even go through peachtree city to newnan all the time
