    Default JDM D15B Super Charged

Hey IA i've sold my SI EF Hatch and now got my hands on a 89 crx si. Plans are to swap in a JDM D15B Vtec and add a JRSC, was wondering if anyone could tell me or know anyone who has done this setup before, how was it, power band, and torque wise.

if you are not going for monster power and you want low-mid range power and tourqe, the sc is for you. sc's are limited to about 10-11 psi MAX! sc's also are not great on top end power an as we all know hondas thrive in high revs.

It would be a fun setup. But a simple B with minor mods would give you a run.

get a b20b/z and you will have a great powerband, torque is very nice and it is very cheap.

you can get an ls for around the same ballpark price and it has alot more potential for boost.

d15b with boost can easily take 99% of n/a b-series on the road.

sh¡t you can eaisly push 15 daily and 20 at the track with low comp pistions, some h-beams, arp studs everywhere, and a cosworth gasket. should be in the 350hp ballpark.

Something was wrong with that car then...or it wasn't the D15B VTEC just a D15B. Because having owned a EF with a D15B VTEC and being a previous Honda fanatic I can tell you a Miata would not keep up with one. And I own a Miata lol.

thats like 2gs + into a d series. if he cant afford to move onto a b or h series that will never happen.

Maybe he WANTS a D series. I could have had a B16 or D15B VTEC and I took the D15B VTEC, B series are not the only way.

thats the point im getting at if he on here asking easy question like this. he isnt doing his own labor. he will spend an easy $1400+ on labor for a build like that.

i just recently sold my jdm b16a swap, so really im just hopping onto a d-series to get it boosted or supercharged. hey JDM D15B $500 complete swap cant go wrong. In a crx Boosted or supercharged...might be a well worth of investment for a everyday daily driven fun car.
