Default B20 vtec with itr tranny

Well i decide to go with a new clutch and bought it for a type-r tranny form summit b/c nobody in the southeast that i know of had a clutch in
so i go home and try to install it but it didn't work the spline shaft on the clutch was tobig it hit the spline sleeve on the tranny and would,nt allow the tranny to mount to the block so after about 3 hours of wat to do next we looked at the old clutch and the new clucth and noticed that the new clutch spline shaft is 1 1/4 in and the old clutch shaft is 3/4 PROBLEM so the i thought all b-series stuff was the same but that is wrong as u will find out well i decide to to if a ls is diffrent b/c its not vtec just like the b20 and the gsr and type-r are vtec so i found out there is a diffrence b/w nonvtec crankshaft and clutch and vtec crankshaft and clutch dont ask me y it is but it is and u can use ls clutch on any b-series motor but u cant use a vtec clutch(b16,b18c,b18c5) on a non vtec block

if u think i am wrong go ahead and go to nopi or summit or call zoom or competion clutch or centerforce or even Exedy they will tell u they make diffrent clutches for vtec and non vtec motor

sorry if there a any misspelling on this i am not the best typer or proof reader

    totally wrong.

VTEC and NON VTEC are the same spline count.

Hydro and 88-91 CABLE are different spline count.

You prob got a Cable SPline instead of HYDRO

If what yo usay was true, anytime someone switched trannys they would have to switch the clutch and i know thats not true. Ive put LS trannys in GSRs and Vice Versa.

    Check it out:

That's true. You can run an ls tranny in a gsr and a gsr tranny in an ls without having to change the clutch out. I've also done this a few times. As mr.kidd said I think you got a cable tranny clutch.

    GO to NOPIONLINE.COM

    http://www.nopionline.com/nopistore/...20Integra&vn=0

They list all Competiton Clutches for 94-01 INTEGRA 1.8L

They dont List GSR/ITR and LS/B20

    Even Clutchmasters says
    Performance Clutch Kit - 4cyl 1.8L VTEC/non-VTEC Type R - FX100 Series - Bolts-On w/ Small Squeeze - Use Aluminum Flywheel # 127+0151 - Flywheel Height .110+ - (Moderate Abuse, Moderate Power, Best Road Race / Autocross (Moderate Power)) - 365+2313
    Exedy
    Stage 1 Clutch Kit - 1.8L B18B / B18C - Torque Capacity: 201lb/ft - Disc Size: 220mm - Spline Teeth/Major Diameter: 24T / 26mm - Use Lightweight Flywheel: HF01 - Hydraulic Clutch - 365+4299
See a pattern? Hydro is a 24 tooth spline count IIRC 26mm

Cable is a 25mm Spline if not smaller.

So SUmmit Racing (who doesnt know **** about Imports) prob sold you a CABLE CLUTCH. Take it back, call me tomorrow an ill get you a Competition Clutch

    and fyi

VTEC Cranks are either 87mm (GSR/ITR) or 89mm(LS or B20)

AN that only has to do with the STROKE, not anything else. Flywheels are both the same. Snouts are still the same.

Should have called me or PMed me, i could have gotten you a Competition Clutch in 2 hours.

How would the crankshaft have anything to do with how your clutch fits? It doesn't touch the crank in the slightest... sounds like you got the wrong clutch for the input shaft on your transmission.

...i saw Mr. Kidd Himself posted up before i did, he probably said the same thing.

No the spline count was the same but how thick the spline shaft on the clutches was diffrent unless centerforce has partnumber mixed up wich i doubt they do they make diffrent clutchs for ls and gsr so does exedy and competion clutchs call them and ask before you sayanything else plz.......

also i was talking about the smooth part on the trany wouldn't go all the way in to where it was soppost to b/c the clutch pline shaft was to thick it measured to 1 1/4 inches where as the ls zoom clutch measured up to 3/4 of an inch and when we put that clutch on it went on with no problems

i should have called you mike b/c nobody in the south east had a stage 3 6 puck cluth instock

i dont need to drive out there, i KNOW it works.

Call Mainstream and ask them. They have done more honda clutches than prob anywhere in the ATL area.

Call Acura an ask if the LS clutch has the same part number as the GSR, i bet they do.

Call Acura Honda Specialists in Jonesboro an talk to Tom, i bet he agrees with me.

The clutches are the same, i used to have a B20VTEC with a ITR Trans, an i bought a stage 4 cluch from CC an i didnt specify VTEC or Not.

you are either putting the clutch in wrong, or you got the wrong one.

Take it back, Call Competition Clutch (www.competitionclutch.com) ask to speak to CHRIS, tell him VTECKIDD SENT YOU.

you can get a clutch TODAY, they are located in conyers

I will vouch what mr.kidd said... b series hydro clutch are the same vtec or not does not matter. You can not use the cable clutch in the hydro tranny, will not work.

know i am not say ing i know everything i was simply explianing my problem when i went to summit racing and got a clutch for a type-r tranny the thickness of the splines measured to 1 1/4 inches which dint allow the snout on the tranny to set properly because it was hittind on the every back of the splines on the tranny so the has about 1/2 gap and yes i know mr.kidd so i do beleive him he has helped me alot so i went back and got one for a ls and when i measured that it cam to 3/4 so 1 1/4 -3/4 = 1/2 wow!!!!!!holy sh!t there is the 1/2 inch gap that i had b/w the block and tranny so when we called the clutch company they siad they make one for the b20and ls block non-Vtec and one for the Vtec block what the diffrence i dont know i dont care i know what i had to buy was a ls clucth from them and that was the only clutch that worked so that the tranny would mount up

i am a young kid and most ppl on IA have had more swap than how old i am so i do believe you when u say u know ur sh!t but i am saying what i say and what i had to get so that everything would mount up fine
Hell Mr.Kidd just helped me today when i called him and he was right so do i beleive him yes am i asay he is wrong know is he right probally yes but for some reason the clutch cpmany that i got my clutch from made diffrent clucths for diffrent motor why i dont know i dint think there was anything diffrent
