    Default Who's Runnin' A stock D16a6?

ok so here's my dilema... im runnin a stock d16a6 (zc if you prefer) that i have just done a rebuild on. it was a budget rebuild so i just made sure of the measurements (replacing what was needed of course) and shot peened the rods (only $15 do you blame me?). I'm runnin a t3 trim 60 in it now and going to get it re-tuned and now im stuck with choosing what i want power wise. So is there any one out there that's runnin 200+whp on a stock d16a6? i keep hearing about people runnin it up to 225-230 but that just seems iffy. Im just looking for reassurance here. thanks. oh and b series lovers, feel free to rant about all the "bad decisions" i've made. i enjoy the creativity of your hatred lol

As long as you are sure about the rebuild and you get it tuned then you will be fine with 200whp. You shouldn't need that much boost with that size turbo. I have a stock rebuilt A6 that I plan on tring about 250whp on but I have extra motors in case it doesn't like it. Scotty has been running a y7 at 210whp for about 3yrs now with no problems. Good luck.

do it. i'm approaching 5 years boosted on my stock y7 and like charles said 3+ years 200+whp. i don't usually recommend it if you have any hesitation risking blowing it up, but if you've done any strengthening of the motor you should be ok w/o much trouble.
