ehhh...kinda. The M3 will cost you almost 10Gs more, and as far as making more power than stock, your in the same boat. You have to go FI to get good power out of it, and aftermarket parts are even MORE expensive...

For the $10k you would have spent in mods you would have a completely stock car that is probably faster than the modified Z (arguable)

I believe E46 M3s dyno somewhere in the 270rwhp range while stock 350Zs (older ones, not sure about the new ones) dyno somewhere around 230whp with similar weight.

I saw 2-3 different 350Zs dyno at a Main Stream dyno day between 225whp and 235whp. Granted, this was 3 years ago so I don't know if the new ones make anymore power.

unless something goes wrong like all electronic model BMW's do.

or the fact that test pipes, will put you right next to an M3 on the highway

the price of an M3 is way too high.. and for a 6 year old car you're paying 29 grand for a 2002...2003 IF YOU'RE LUCKY. no thanks. I thought about getting an M3, and the Z is defeinitely the better choice. Unless you don't care about money.

That definately isn't a factual statement. I personally have raced an E46 M3 that was 100% stock when I had all my mods (cai, plenum, testpipes & catback) and he still pulled on me once we got up to about 110mph, then he steadly walked away.

well not factual with all Z's obviously, All Z's put down different numbers. I personally have a friend with a 2006 SMG M3 and when i put on a catback and CAI i pulled on him by half a car on the highway and he wasn't catching me by the time i hit 120.

Then your car must be completely out of the norm for the VQs. What is your best 1/4mi et/trap?

You run a 102 trap and claim to have beaten an SMG m3? I don't buy it.
