Again, there are many possible variations like this where a "Maxima" motor is indeed very much like the "300zx" motor so it MAY be the same block too. Follow?
As explained above, there are some differences in some of the VG's but it may not make a difference in respect to the BLOCK and possibly the heads.The older, gen pre-1995 Maxima (A31?) shared a the same VG designated motor as the 300zx, but I believe there were some differences between the two.
