Need help about my tranny

Well it was running good till some of my friends decided to drive my car. and they stalled and missed gears frequestly and now my 3rd gear wont go in properly. an1 know the problem? i have a 92 prelude si.

some1 told me it might be the synchronizer. any1 know how much that will cost me to replace?

Might be too far gone but flush it and put in GM Syncromesh...

It could be your pressure plate, my old s10 had a worn out third gear when I got it and that's what it was on mine.

Is it Grinding? Popping out of gear? Really notchy/not even going in?

It is most likely a bad syncrho.

Try the GM synchromesh or Penzoil Synchromesh as mentioned

It's astroglide for your gearbox.

I didn't say the rest of the gears shifted like butter lol, but third gear was almost IMPOSSIBLE to shift into, and I only replaced the pressure plate and it drove fine.

i had a 2nd synchro going out and i put gm synchromesh in it and it has almost completely quit, it only does it every once in a while. make sure you get the "modified" kind of synchromesh, there are two kinds, one will say modified

k my first gear pops out now. i guess i should really think about that gm synchromesh. i went to advance auto parts today and said they dont have it there.

You're beyond synchromesh if it's not staying in gear.

GM Synchromesh [friction modified] is a GM part, only available at GM dealerships I love parking next to a Corvette at the dealership in a Honda to pick up a "part" for my car...lolol.

I work at a collision center. I run for parts from time to time anywhere from Global to RBM to Lexus to Acura. Try me. It's a 4-tone primer 91 civic hatchback that's gutted and slammed.
