it took me a week to strip my first sr clip. it took me and a buddy 2 days to strip his sr clip. it took 4 of us 6 hours to strip an rb20 clip. it took me 2 days to strip my last sr and all we have to do tomorrow is take the motor outta this one and its ready to go to the scrapper, so yeah i think we'll make it.

I can have one running in a day, if I didn't do any prep work and just wanted it in, to run, now new belts, hoses, clutch, anything. 2-3 with prep work being done.

says the man with the shop, this is an indy venture and my first rb (btw E i need a fmic with the end tanks on the same side). yeah my bad being a smart ass, i was a bit tired. we got the motor out today. i cut the core support and pulled it straight out, it hung a little bit on one of the steering rack hard lines. that clip was all motor and the second i lifted it out the clip nearly fell off the stands. i chased the wires in the lower harness and will start on the engine harness when i get up today. my tentative plan goes like this:

tomorrow chase wires, clean garage/motor/tool, remove clip.

i'll do the wiring on tuesday and prep the sr for the pull, take off the bumper, lights, fenders, blow through fmic, upper/lower harnesses, drain fluids and generally get everything ready to pull and drop.

weds will be the big show. start pullin the sr at around 2 p.m., it shouldnt take more than 30min. then drop the cross member and bolt the rb in using the tophat mounts. then, somehow, drag the rb under the car and drop the car on top of it. dont ask me how i havent gotten there yet. i figure the motor should be in the car between 6 and 8 p.m. if it gets in that early ima take a shower and head for the titty bar or the movies or something.

thursday i'll install the wiring harnesses, intercooler bs (im going to cut the inner fender outta the skyline and weld it into mine so my inner fender doesnt end up lookin like Es purple car), and fluids. then i'll try and start it up. when that doesnt happen i'll go to bed.

friday should be all trouble shooting and maybe a trip to the muffler shop if i get done in time.

its a bit ambitious but i think we should be able to make it. if i worked 12 hrs a day i could probably get it done in 2 days, but i dont want to work that hard. so if any of the nissan faithful are up near cumming and want to come by, post up and i'll let you know where i am. if you have any advise id appreciate it.

Do you mean all motor, as in naturally aspirated, non-turbo, etc? If so, why? Just wondering.

what i ment was that once i took the motor outta the clip me and a buddy could pick it up and move it around. it was just a little heavier than a 180sx or silvia clip. anyways, the motor/trans are clean, the garage is clean, and my tools are clean. all the wiring is done except the wiper motor and lengthening the mafs and boost wires, which kinda needs to be done in the car. lower harness was cake. ima go, or rather my dad or uncle is gonna go to z atlanta tomorrow to pick up the yoke so i can have the driveshaft made. thats about it for now. lata

we ran into a slight problem with the mounts, one of the isolators was tapped wrong. so when i went to the store and bought the m12x1.75 nuts it would only fit on one isolator. the other is a m12x1.5, so we desided to call it early. went to the movies and saw the devils rejects. not really a great movie, there where boobies, but generally speaking it was a bit weird and didnt make that much sense. so tomorrow pics of everything and motor in the car.

heres the story. like 2 weeks ago i was comin back from taco hell and the redtop that was in the car at the time just shut off. i had blown couplers and shit before so it was no big deal. well everything was fine under the hood and the ecu was throwin code 11. so i fiddled with shit for like 5-10 min and the car started back up. i got within eyesight of my house and it shut off again, same code 11. i figured it was in my harness someplace, so i was just gonna wait till the rb got here and fix it then. well the rb is in the car, the wiring is done(correctly i might add), everything that is supposed to come on and power up when you turn the switch does(fuel pump, gauges get power, you get the idea), the motor turns over, but the fucking car wont start. the rb is throwin the same code 11. i understand that code 11 on both rb, sr, and every other nissan is the CAS, but the CAS isnt bad in the rb. the CAS wasnt bad in the sr either. so im lost at this point, its probably one of the 12 relays that have to be working to start the car, but at this point im out of ideas. i know its in the car someplace but i have no idea where to start looking. sorry to disapoint. if you guys have any ideas id like to hear em.

btw: if your gonna buy a project car, buy one that is running or has ran in the last 6months. mine sat out for 3 yrs with the windows down before i got ahold of it.

ok it was throwin the CAS code because when i unpluged the CAS to prime the motor i didnt clear the code, my bad :jerkit: . my next problem was i wasnt getting any fuel, E already knows why, for the rest of you it was the mother fuckin gray wire . runs like butta she does . i'll take some video if someone is willing to host and i'll post up some pics on thursday, goin to warped tour tomorrow.
