    Is the 98 Civic Type R ECU, OBD1 or 2,???

    Are you sure i thought in japen they didn't have obd2. But I have been wrong once before.

    There is JDM OBD2. I know this because I was running OBD2 JDM ITR ECU in my '97 Civic with OBD2A USDM GSR. You won't pass emission with JDM OBD2 ECU tho.

    all 96+ is obd2. obd1 type r ecu doesn't exist.

    i edited the post -- apparently they may have OBD2b, still trying to confirm it...it is ODB2, just not sure a or b
