Default 1996, Honda Civic EX, turns over, but wont start

Need some advice, I have a 1996 honda civic EX, had a blown motor, swaped out with a rebuilt d16 vtec from a 2000 EX, swap put in with no problems, everything including sensors from the engine were swaped out. Now the car turns over but does not crank.

I cannot think of what it could be.

    There is a spark!

    Ignition order is correct 1-3-4-2

    and engine turns over freely.

    Any advice?

check spark, check fuel, check compression. that'll pretty much tell you everything you need to know.

compresion shows 135 psi across all 4 cylinders, there is spark, and yes I have spark plugs.

ECU pluged in, I checked engine makes as well, the 1996 engine was a d16y8 and the 2000 engine is also a d16y8

the distributor is from the 1996 model, didnt quite fit the 2000 motor, on the brackets had to drill them a little bit to make them fit, but like I said there is spark across all 4 wires, compression is solid at 135 psi across all 4 cylinders.

only thing not so right is that the alternator blet is a little loose, but it still turns, but that shouldnt be a problem anyway.

I need to get a noid light make sure the injectors are throwing enough fuel.

its the same injectors that were off the 1996 motor, and that motor had 0 compression across on cylinders 1-3 but the motor still ran.

SO I don't know. I am completely clueless on this.

ignition timing then. you said you had to drill the dist. bracket? t take it you had the distributor off then. check to see the firing order is in time with the pistons. if the #1 piston comes up on exhaust and you are getting your spark, then the thing won't run. if it's getting the spark on the intake it won't run. spark needs to be on right stroke. set #1 to TDC. can see on the crank pulley usually. then set the distributor to fire on #1. set everything in there, try to turn it over as long as there is compression, spark, and fuel it should run. assuming everything is in time with eachother. LMK. if you need more help message my phone. 404-324-2390.
