I just bought my first bike yesterday. (well.. thrusday). 01 CBR600 F4i. I also took the safety course at Earl Smalls in Marietta (had way to much fun on that buell blast). And for the past 4 years I've been riding my fathers 02 Yamaha Roadstar 1600 (built out the ass). I am really used to that bike, and I can pretty much ride it like I stole it and still be comfortable.
In the past few years I've been leaning towards a sport bike. My father really didn't want me to have one, but I just fell in love with them. He keeps saying that I'm going to kill myself on it, but I really don't see me going and doing mountian runs, or trying to ride on the back wheel or anything.. The first time I got to ride a sport bike I got to cruise around a neighborhood on a gsxr600 a little while.. around a year ago, and I fell in love. My buddy had his 01 cbr forsale with a couple little mods. He got tired of it considering it was his only means of transportation and then I picked it up off of him.
The thing that really gets me is how much power this thing has (and I know it's really not that fast). I've not really been out trying to do crazy shit on it because I'm still learning, but I'm getting a little more comfortable with it. I still ride it like it's just transportation (not going over 9k rpm). I rode it around today for around 2 hours. I could maybe see me upgrading later, but for now this is plenty of power for me.
