Now, if you rev your engine and the ticking gets stronger/louder its prolly rod knock. If its a light tick and high up, valve noise. Never hurts to have a clean engine, so about 1500 miles before your next oil change, add 1 qt of Dexron III Trans fluid to it to help clean stuff out.
Now, if you dont check your oil regularly enough, you have no buisness owning a MK III Supra, 1 qt low can ruin the engine. If you leave oil leaks, you have no buisness owning this car, if you are at all a cheapass, get rid of the car and buy a civic.
