    Default Honda powered Miata.

I have a friend that I work with that races in SCCA and NASA w/ his supercharged NSX. The NSX is going up for sale in favor of a more challenging car in a different class.
    1991 Acura : NSX
Now, he's new "idea" is an F22C(I think that is the code for the S2000 engine) turbo powered miata. I know, sounds crazy but it actually not a bad idea when you consider 1. the weight and handling of a miata and 2. the power potential of a turboed F22C. Now obviouly, there will probably be some weight balance issues to address, but he is an engineer by trade, so that will be a walk in the park. The car will be a track car used for Auto x and scca/nasa, so the power will not be huge, but way more than the stock mazda powerplant.Does anyone here know of or have any documentation of this swap? Has it even been done? Also where can we aquire a good S2000 engine, ideas?Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, Mods:if this is in the wrong place, fell free to move it, thanks.

been done... old news. Why not just buy a S2000??

Or for about the same amount of money, he can build the 1.8L into a 2.0L and boost it.... capable of 400+ rwhp.

b/c he already owns two miata spec racers. One w/ the 2.0 and one w/ the 1.8, but he says he's looking for more torque, plus he's familiar w/ honda engines from his NSX build.

Does he really wanna go from a mid-engine beast to an over-powered miata? None the less fun but i can't imagine how it would handle Road Atlanta with practically no traction...normally you can bury the throttle from 1 through the esses in a spec but with 3-4 times the hp

Well, I think he's leaning more toward the Corvette C5 platform, but I'm doing a little research nonetheless. It may be something that I do w/ his help to get my foot in the SCCA scene.

Well, spec miata won't allow a stroker kit, so it can;t be running in that. This wasn't his car was it??? That guys is from GA and has a 2.0 Stroker (so i heard)... there aren't many people with those....
