    Default Drained motor

heys guys...well i got a new car since my tranny blew out on other and i needed a ride to school so i put the ol 240 on the side as a sideproject....havent got it goin cuz i still gotta get my current car up to basic maintenance..brakes/tires changed exc. well when my tranny went out it ran the engine really hard until it over heated b4 i could get over off the highway.....so i drained the oil to look for metal bits u know to see if the engine was heavily damaged...and well it got cold as fuck and i have been busy and its been chillin without oil for about a month. how bad is it to let an engine sit without oil in it?

i havent had time to throw a new tranny in it

probly a n00b question but had to be asked

    thanks!

if you leave it sit to long going from cold to warm it'll end up building condensation and create surface rust on all the steel parts. I'd put oil in it, and atleast fire it up every so often.

A month probably didnt hurt to bad. I would think your still ok

its warm tomorrow. So put some oil in it. A month isn't long, i wouldn't think that you damaged anything tho
