I can't prove they broke it other than it was working when I pulled into the shop and now it doesn't. Now, either I buy a stock replacement or find a cheap aftermarket rear set.

I have no idea what type of plug they are quoting you for $400, seems full of shit to me. I'd pull the code myself and do some research. You can buy a decent folding brake pedal pretty cheap at most good shops.
