Why not the normal drag racing classes like N/A, Turbo, FWD, Etc?

I don't understand the closet E.T. thing, I could win money by running lower 14's with a stock car with an autmocatic because of the consistency as opposed to running a 13.8 and beating the slower cars.

Fuck The "Scene", We have the track.
it was designed around a normal test-n-tune... the shows previous to this at the track showed classes didn't work out, maybe we'll change the format next year if we get enough response to. w/ the format as is levels the playing field for most drivers. but keep the suggestions coming i would like to see what UP thinks considering they are the most experience track guys on the site

Why not divide the classes similar to the way some shops do dyno battles?

    4 cyl n/a
    4 cyl +1 power adder
    4 cyl unlimited

    6 cyl n/a
    6 cyl +1
    6 cyl unlimited

    8 cyl n/a
    8 cyl +1
    8 cyl unlimited

and just to get a little more people interested maybe add:

    2 door n/a
    2 door with adders
    4 door n/a
    4 door with adders

You could compete in multiple classes and win in multiple classes possibly. Don't know how everyone feels about that, so I'll put it out there. That's 15 different classes that should be able to cover everybody from 100 hp guys to 1000 hp beasts. It wouldn't be fair to go up against someone that has power adders and you don't, just like it wouldn't be fair to be pitted against a purpose built race car either.

Power adder would need to be defined. Obviously, it usually means nitrous or FI, but you know how many ying yangs are out there so you wouldn't want someone running both or something. You also don't want to have a clear cut winner right out of the gate or people will lose interest. Most people like close racing. If you put some badass 10 sec Honda against a 14 sec car, it's a no brainer. People don't like to watch that. People would much rather watch (and participate) if they have a shot at winning or atleast placing. If you don't spread the field out a little, you'll have folks not wanting to do it because they know they don't have a chance before it even starts.

    Either way....that's my .
