I'd ask for the ignorance to cease but that would involve an act of Congress.

Honestly, no one missed anything. This was just a Barrett or Gwinnett meet on a larger scale. It was kinda cool seeing some people you havent seen in about a year. For me it was just a chance to get out of the house and hang out with some friends. I should have expected the typical ricer activity; the burnouts, the bouncing off of the rev limiter, but I gave the people too much credit. One fuckbag in a white 1980's RX7 with "WANKLE" written across the windshield and horribly sprayed white wheels did that very thing, bounced his rev limiter off through his straight pipes while I was standing behind his car. Normally I would have drug him out of the car and had my way with his face, but with police all around, and in the interest of not going to jail for assault on a child, I restrained myself. Some people I've seen on this site who are regular posters here did it too. It may have been because I was in a foul mood to begin with. That will definitely be the last IA Atlanta meet I go to, at least until the hobby that I enjoy becomes less saturated with children with high school mentalities and drivers licenses. Grow the fuck up people. Im fucking embarrassed for this city

Barret or gwinnett meets have what, 30 cars, maybe 100? This event had what, 3000? Same thing my ass. And I don't do stupid ricer shit or condone it, but when you have 3000 or more people in one location there's bound to me some dumbasses, if you didn't expect to see a few idiots then you're one as well. Rick, you missed the keywords "on a larger scale" and we are aware that ignorance is abound.

I meant to say I agree when I wrote my post; I worded it wrong.

Sad to say, I wasn't impressed either. Biggest thing I learned, a parking deck with bad lighting is not a good place for a show. I also hesitate to call it a show, with the fact that 90% of the cars I wanted to get a look at, of course were all locked up/windows up < and of course tinted > in previously stated dark parking deck. Before someone goes off, with some of what I saw walking around, I'd have mine locked /rolled up too..... but that just kinda ruined it for me. I was lucky to have a building close by, that I was able to use their free and secure deck to park in, had to walk over, but alot less hassle IMHO. I do look forward to attending some real shows in the future, but doubt I will waste my time at this one < in this location anyways> ever again.

For your first post, sounds like you were scoping out the cars for reasons other than admiring them.

Hardly. I'm 44 years old, and have been to ALOT of shows over the years. While I admit I am somewhat new to the import scene, not new to cars. I drive an Integra, and I really wanted to see some nice ones. For instance, one thing I was really interested in seeing up close and personal were some JDM seats < can't seem to fathom in my mind what the fabric actually feels like.... I've been told it is a "microsuede" type feel, but from pics I've seen make it to look rather "coarse". I doubt most people would mind that I copped a feel of their seat fabric. I was also hoping to see a set of REAL <not replica> oem side skirts.... only set I saw were a VERY cracked set of replicas. Most car people look out for other car peoples cars. I would romp on someones ass if they tried anything with your or anyone elses car, so before you go accusing anyone of anything, maybe you should look in the mirror. I have no beef with anyone, and I do know there are people who scope out forums, and shows looking for stuff rather than "admiring" as you put it.
Bottom line, car shows are supposed to be to show, and to meet people, and to share experiences..... someone gets caught doing something they shouldn't, let everybody in the place come down on them.

I wasn't passing judgment, my friend, nor did I mean for my post to sound like that.

That point of view I posted about your post is what some may get coming from someone who was new. No harm, no foul.

I am new, but it didn't seem like a proper greeting. You're right though, no harm, no foul. Car people should look out for car people. I personally could care less what someone else drives, if it has 4 wheels < in some cases 2 or3> I'm all for it. Everyone has their own style, and I really enjoy seeing it. Although a certain car may look like a POS to some of you, you never know what that person has put into it, or what it may have looked like before.
Bottom line, look out for each other...you may find that they would do the same for you.....

haha highlight of my day was watching the cop get upset for almost no apparent reason that I could see. Sooooooooo many cars though. The Fiat was probably one of my favorites.

Everyone seemed pretty well behaved though from what I can see. If people expect no antics to go on at a large meet like that, thats a bit asking too much lol

The black lady cop? When she went on her little PA and asked for people to move aside, someone yelled something to her. When she stopped the car and jumped out, he turned around and ducked in the crowd. Lol

I think so, it was around where the Vuongs Garage cars were. She got all pissed off and pumped the gas a few times pretty hard threatening she was going to shut the "show" down

I was leaving and some people emerged out of a line of cars and I had to hit the brakes. Maybe I was doing 20mph. Cop walks over and mouths off. I thought for a second about mouthing off myself, but just said "yes sir" and drove away.

    +45 reps.

I always try my hardest to put myself in their shoes. Especially if they arent "enthusiasts", they really see meets and get togethers like that in a different light. Also, a lot of "kids" that attend these functions think they can do whatever the hell they want and not respect any form of authority.

What I described that I saw there was 100% accurate my friend, LOL. If you think that's supposed the "norm" then you're an idiot too. I guess these are the only meets you've ever been to. There's no way I'll stand around and "accept" ass-hattery. I'll call you the fuck out, and/or just not go. Try going to a real car show where there's grown ups, they don't do that shit, and when they do, they get called the fuck out and ejected. I guarantee that there was not a 10 minute period where I didnt hear someone revving there engine, someone doing a burnout, someone blaring their stupid ass train horn, or someones obnixious ass car alarm going off. If you think it should be accepted that these assclowns do the shit they do, then you're part of the problem.

This wasnt a show by any means. The reason everyones windows are tinted and rolled up and locked tight is because you cant trust anyone. Car theft is all too prevalent in this community. The folks that had their windows down were standing very close to their stuff. My shit was locked tight too so i could at least try to enjoy walking around and looking at other cars. Like I said earlier, go to a classics, hot-rod, or exotics "SHOW" everyones windows will be down, hoods will be up, and everyone acts like grown ass adults. Then for shits and giggles ask one of them to start their car and rev it up, or do a burn out or something and see if they dont laugh at you. All you can really call IA was a meeting or gathering of people. Some with similar interests.

i agree with a lot of you the constant reving was driving me nuts. i just wished people would have come in find a place to park and stay there. i cant tell you how many times i saw the same cars just doing laps. at one point i walked to the open parking lot to look at a friends car came back and it was nothing but haze from the exhaust fumes that when i decided to leave. I also like how in the picture threads its always the same handful of cars that everyone posts up (congrats to those people your cars are nice) but there were 3000 or so cars there and there are 4 or 5 picture threads with the same handful of cars in every thread. i guess i just find it funny.

My 2 cents about going to IA...

It was great to see so many cars in one place.. especially unique as the parking deck..

I know its nearly impossible or maybe possible to organize this but it would of been cooler if cars were organized by models or makes. I had hard time finding specific cars that I saw at day before at either Southrnfresh or at Zen motor..

Would be nice to have Import Alliance held at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Plenty of room for vendors and cars!

lol at some of you. first this was a car meet....not a car show. nopi was a car show. motorsports national was a car show.

if your going to a car meet/show i would expect to hear reving cars cars and burn outs. why would you not expect it. its a CAR meet. to show off cars. who cares who got the attention. the only ones bringing it up are the ones that obviously had nothing better else to do but complain.

i got a idea. how bout not show up to the next one. that would be one less person bitching about cars reving at meets or car shows. then maybe one day there will be no more.

haha the meet at mainstream was really quiet, everyone was on their best behaviour. Was weird to say the least lol But the caliber of cars was pretty nice out there to say the least. Maybe there is a correlation

your right i do go expecting it what i was saying i just dont understand why there is the need to do it. and with all of the neon/ flashing led's and gay music blasting it sure as hell felt like i was back at nopi. car show or car meet call it what you want there is no need to let everyone know what your stock turbo sounds like or what your d15 sounds like because no one cares.
