so who from GA currently has the fastest SFWD car that is running at this time? What is the make/model and setup? What is the 1/4 mile time? Please post serious replies, we'll be putting a bounty on them. Who ever takes the fastest GA racer out during eliminations will get the cash reward.

OK so....I'm going to put this out there, but I will explain logically so you don't think I'm just complaining for my own benefit. Why does the Outlaw Class (which should typically be the fastest) pay out less than the Forced Induction & FWD Classes? Traditionally, the fastest class pays the most money in any sanctioned event.

Now I know along the lines of what will be said is something like.... Import Face has always been more about the grassroots racers and kind of originated around the FWD crowd. The FWD crowd is usually the largest field, so we cater to that class and pay more money. The Forced Induction Crowd (Street Tire Class) has been growing in popularity so it has a high payout as well.

This all makes perfect sense to me. I realize this race has been going for many years and has been almost the only touring race that has out lasted sanctioning bodies like NDRA, NIRA, NHRA for imports, etc.... Props to you for that and thank god you're still going strong.

But there in begins my point. All the big dog race cars have somewhat vanished. You know, all the purpose built drag cars we used to see. To me it seems this is an opportunity for Import Faceoff to step in and revamp what no one else is offering, except for maybe BOI. It seems to me that putting more attention into the Outlaw Class would ultimately promote this event more and put more people in the stands. I mean, I guess from a business perspective, what is IFO's ultimate goal with the progress of their events?
Is it to continually grow and expand these events or is it to keep at the same pace and progression? I'm not saying to take anything away from the other classes, and by no means am I suggesting to over extend your self to try and bring back a NDRA level of race. Cause lets face it, the Import drag scene does not have the popularity it used to. I'm just pointing out that you already have a well established following, but there is untapped market being overlooked that could get some really fast cars out to the track and help put some extra asses in the stands.

Just for an FYI, my car will fit in the Pro Forced Induction Class with the new rule change for 2010....so I'm not trying to promote the Outlaw class for my own personal benefit. Not to mention that there are a hell of a lot faster cars than mine that would fit into this class if they actually started showing up.
    I always break anyway.

Thanks for yor time and sorry if I wasted it.

I understand where Mike is coming from. But, look at the attendance of that class. If more people showed up or showed intrest then im sure cliff would rethink that class.
Alot of people have sold their hot rod car overseas, since their really isnt anywhere too race it at. So once people start too show up, then im sure the money payouts would go up.
But look at the last few races, how many cars have actually showed up. The FWD class always has people there racing.

The attendance could be a direct corelation to the payout. It may not be worth people to bring the big cars out if they only win 350.00 bux. Then again, another couple hundred bux probably wont make them come flying out of the wood work either.
I just wish we could see some really fast cars like we used to. I may try to run both classes in 2010.

BTW, your signature always distracts me...I wish I could slow the pictures down.

Is my Plymouth Voyager turbo considered a compact since it is built on the same (basic) platform as the Omni? I'd be willing to throw my hat in the ring, but I don't know if they would consider mine a compact. It is 4 cyl., FWD, automatic, though!
