I think Lanier park looks like a good place by description, it has shelters, grills, boat ramps, etc. As far as the week after Petit, I know I'll be strapped for cash, and also alot of fall festivals will be going on in the mountains. I usually load up my son and ride to a few of the festivals, (In an Old Skool car) Like the Ellijay Apple Festival, or Dahlonegah Gold Rush. Ken, if your coming up Saturday, then maybe we'll ride out to some of the parks that Stormhammer suggested, and check them out.

We went to a few of the parks on the southside of Lake Lanier. For next year, Lanier Park will probably see some meets. It's got lots of room, but they will be closed by October. We found another park that has great parking and a pavillion and is on the lake. It's called Mary-Alice Park, and it's just off of Hwy 400 and SR 20 near Cumming. We'll likely hold the next event there; on October 25. If any one want to meet up, at Road Atlanta for Petit, post it up, maybe we can get something together there.

^^Cool, This meet will probably be the last one until spring, and I'd like to finish off this first season of Old Skool Japanese cars off with a blow out. So start working the rx7 guys for this meet. Are you from the OG/TA group from club rx 7?

^^ HAHA - man, I haven't pulled the trigger on that yet since I am still in Seattle until Sunday.

But I will try to get my 1st gen Civic out, as well as put the 510 back together if I can get another driver. But after this meet, if we get another b4 winter I will have a Starion/Conquest to drag out as well.

PS: thanx for all of the help looking also.

Bring 'em both! LOL! I've actually been considering doing some old Skool bikes at these meets. The guy with the uber nice 240z has several ultra nice O/S bikes and some friends with O/S bikes. I think it woud be cool.

Man - the resurgence of Old Skool rides is a breath of fresh air - get out there, find something worth dragging home and save these classics from being scrapped. It's not hard people.

There is a new magazine on the shelves also - I picked it up from Barnes and Nobles -- I have the 1st and 2nd issue - GOOD STUFF!!!

^^^X2. Find a old skool car in a backyard, drag it home, and get dirty with it. It's about the only way to have a truly unique, car that fits your taste and personality. To do a nice build on a car, the engine, suspension, some OG wheels, decent paint, and a clean interior, will set you back from $3000.00 to $10,000.00. This is for a clean, respectible, moderately quick O/S car. If you don't have an old Japanese car, and you are interested in finding one come out to the next meet in october and ask around, Most of us Old Skoolers always have projects sitting that we would like to see someone finish, or we know someone who has a project, or finished car, for sale. At the last meet at Ft. Yargo I heard the owner of the Badass rx3 price it for $18,000. and I bet it will run with any 4th Gen supra turbo in the 1/4 on the top end, and kick a** at an autocross event. By the way, did any one see that '74 corolla in super street mag. 2tg FI and turbo. What? It REALLY stinks, cause it's the sh*T.

That would beat Supras?? It was a cool car for sure. What suspension to be fast at autocross? What engine was in it I barely looked at it. It was bad ass though.

They booted our Maxima and we paid. We started raisin' hell at the booter dude, and he didn't want to listen. Finally his partner, checked the box and found out we had paid. I guess they just saw how, clapped out looking, the Maxima was, and assumed it was an abandoned vehicle. Lol. (One of the downfalls of driving an old skool project)
