....just kidding. I have a S2000 now
Android vs Apple will always be an opinionated battle. Obviously I'm partial to Apple but I have considered trying out an Android based device but I'll wait until the dual-core versions hit the shelves.
ya, phils stang couldnt hold a candle to my hatch or my legend.........
Dual core will be a ways from now....with Verizon anyways. One of the biggest set backs with Verizon is the lack of ability to talk and surf at the same time which doesn't bother me all that much.
CNet did a Top 5 Reasons between iPhone and Android in terms of the "universes" and not just the OS. The reasons are:
5. Open source - the people behind Android don't give a shit what you do with the phone that you paid for and belongs to you nor are they going to out smart you with stopping how you hacked it.
4. Real multi-tasking - apps and programs do as they please
3. Adobe Flash - iPhone doesn't support it and likely never will
2. Devices - it's a choice thing
1. Carriers - More choices to choose from aside from AT&T
I am not dogging the iPhone out as it is a good phone but Android, IMO, is a better platform in general. Here is the video of what I posted and I think they did a good job:
BTW, if you are on an iPhone reading this you may not be able to view it. See #3.
According to their website, it's only available in 39 different markets and 60 airports. They expect to have nationwide coverage by the end of 2013.
Verizon has the largest foot print in terms of coverage BUT it also comes with a price. I've had my AT&T service for years now and haven't had a lot of drop calls as long as you're not in the middle of BFE. Sprint and T-Mobile sucks in the metro-Atlanta area.
I will agree that having an open-source OS is cool but at the end of the day, I wouldn't do anything to it. The iPhone does what I need perfectly and thats text messaging.
Any phone really will do what it needs to. I agree it's a huge battle of wits that nobody will win. All a matter of choice but from my experience, Android dominates in general. I've never used the iPhone for more than a few minutes at a time.
One thing that the guy from CNet pointed out about the iPhone from Verizon. With their new 4G LTE network up and coming, the iPhone 4 with Verizon is still 3G and the iPhone isn't global whereas a couple of phones ( Droid Pro and Droid 2) are global.
That's the issue with CDMA in general, you can't use it over seas as easy as AT&T or T-Mobile. I've messed with 4G on the EVO and it wasn't anything worth writing home about.
That's why I was saying it wasn't worth writing home about. lol.
Anyways, I plan on coming out since I haven't been in quite some time.
Hopefully the meet will last a while. At the hawks game now, be back later and if not to late then I'll stop by the meet.
And btw, hawks suck. Down by 30 against Miami.

Before everyone drives their Ruckus to the next Varsity, we all need to invest in some JDM Ruckus parts.
