my exhaust came with the car...
in most cases a name brand exhaust doesnt mean its the "best"... on most hondas an ebay catback with whatever muffler you like is a great combo. vibrant makes awesome mufflers fyi...
for me piping diameter, the bend type (mandrel bent is the onlyway to go!), along with decent flanges and welds are the only things i really look at. we live in a mild climate so rust and corrosion isnt that big of a deal.

bingo! lol
steve makes a point of spending big money on certain items (exhaust included) but thats to be expected from somebody thats a track rat (this pertains to his high dollar coilovers) and has the mentality that "omg its gotta be real!!!!!" (he hates his wheels for this reason. lol)
and all of that is fine and dandy, everything he does and buys is well researched and has a definitive purpose (usually more extreme than most of you).
for most of you that added addjustability from the coilovers isnt needed (if your not making calculations that include vehicle weight, tire width, diameter, wheel width, tire pressure etc... you likely dont need coilovers period.) that $800 exhaust that gives 0.34 more hp isnt needed. the weight savings that it provides by being made out of some uber rare metal, isnt needed. oftentimes i see cars over built/built without a purpose and its pointless.

Niggga, you know I have to chime in. I thought the exact same thing too. Maybe its just me, but settling down with a product because of price is something you DO NOT want to do. I've learned that lesson the hard way. Work for what you want, and it will be that much sweeter. I went through 3 intake setups before I realize that I have to spend $1,400 on a J's intake to make me happy. And I was. Then I sold it. Maybe its just me...
But, Don't settle down with something cause its cheaper. Settle down what with you want, mang...
Nukka, nukka, nukka....
I'm getting a 42 draft designs because I prefer the sound and performance gains over the APR, that is all.
I'd rather pay $750 over $1,100 to get something I want more anyway.
You going to the V meet today? I'd appreciate your company
Save Rite rollout anyone?

no. lol the S2K is the exception to the rule. the damn things are so finiky as far as making bolt on power that the ones that do provide results are exceptionally expensive- as you know.
i was talking to an old friend yesterday thats building a simple d series for daily use and was talking about getting a really expensive exhaust and i just dont get it: its a slow daily thats never gonna get track time, its not gonna make alot of power, and yet he's buying parts that are designed for full blown racecars. I'm just mystified. lol
