    I'm with Mike on this.

There was a silver SI that parked next to me. I was modded inside and out, done really well with a black/red theme for the interior and so damn clean I couldn't believe! The guy was totally cool too and it surprised me that he didn't pick anything up either.

So like you said, to each their own.

Hey guys. Thanks to everyone who came out we had a great turnout. As for the judging, We use ISCA Guidlines when judging these cars. It has to do with Presentation as much as the vehicle being judged. Everyone was given thier judging sheets before judging started specifically so that they would know what to be showcasing and what the judges would be looking for. There were a few cars that should have scored a lot higher but were very poorly presented. Anyone who thinks that Civic was stock needs to Look again. I wish we had more trophies to give away, but come on it was a local show. Sorry if anyone had thier feelings hurt, but there was no bias. The judges didnt even talk to each other about the judging. the sheets were collected from the judges and the best of show was awarded to the highest overall score from all three judges. There were cars that had higher scores from one of the judges, or lower scores from one of judges, that why we took the overall Scores. If anyone wants to know constructively why they didnt win, Id be more than happy to go over your sheets with you. Anyone who didnt pick up thier sheets we still have them here and they can come get them. Thanks again and look for our next show in august-september.

Thank you Audio Wizards for acknowledging all of the time, work and research I put into the car.

P.S I have 43 Custom Features on my car, how many did you guys see.

seriously man. read first. no one is bashing your car. we are stating the fact that your car was not best of show. you have a car may have a few mods but alot of other cars there were better built with more time and design included. money has nothign to do with it. if you can build your own **** then so be it. but i didnt see alot of that on your car. why dont you tell us your 43 "custom features"

when judging his car, he spent over 30 minutes with me walking me through every modification and why it was there. At a show, judges are looking for WHY the mod is there, not just how much it cost. A lot of the cars were either showing me a price tag, of didnt know what was on the car at all. Anyone who took a close look at that Civic would agree that its one of the cleanest ones around. No unneccessary parts, everything is in its place, and everything flows with his theme of the car. I dont care if you have a 300,000 showpiece, if you dont present it like you are proud, or even care, you arent going to win. I dont understand why everyone was so suprised when all competitors recieved thier judging sheets HOURS in advance, and still I saw cars with grocery bags in the seats, dirt and grease everywhere. Thats all well and good, but dont expect something if you arent willing to put forth the effort. At the end of the day, the show side of the event is subjective. We tried to make it as fair as possible, all of the judges followed the guidlines on the sheets line by line, Scores werent shared between judges, and the TOTAL score from all three judges was tallied for the decision. Please, if anyone has any suggestions for the next show on different classes, differents regulations for judging, Im all ears. We arent trying to throw these shows to give out trophies. I am trying to bring a lifestyle that Ive seen In FLA, Cali, And New York that I just think is missing here. So Please any suggestions for the next show, Im All ears.

The only suggestion I would have is to make a mild and wild class, because I think that is what all the complaining boils down to.

you lost track on what the topic at hand here is. You said you have 43 mods? Post a mod list. did you get your scoring sheets back from the judges? Post your scores. No one is bashing you man, but there were many other cars that were more worthy of that trophy.

    30 minutes presentation ?
    ISCA Guidlines ?

Disaster.... but if the participants saw the score sheet before hand , they shouldve know what they were getting into.

    ISCA rules are lame.

An experienced judge will know 98% of the time why a mod is where is suppose to be there already.

Why does it matter if it was a local show? Ive seen local shows give away over 100 pieces of hardware... problem is, Classes or a better breakdown wouldve def helped.

I thought the show was cool, decent location... just my 2 cents on the rest.

its not about whether or not the Judge knows why the Mod is there, I want to see that the owner knows why its there. I saw more than one car there that the owner had no business showing the car. There was no sense of pride, and no explanation of the car. Quite a few of the owners would have done better to have the person who built the car presenting it. While you may disagree with the ISCA guidlines, It's the most universally standard system and was the best place for us to start. For the most part, presentations were between 5-10 minutes, but he took his time because he was proud of what he had done. And, while 100 trophies are great and all, I really was hoping that the show wouldnt be just a bunch of people fishing for a trophy. I think for the most part, most of the people there had a good time hanging out and checking out each others cars. The trophies are really meant as a motivation for everyone to dress up the cars a bit. Next time we are going to get a bigger location (we turned away almost 40 cars once the lot was full) and hire judges so maybe I can hang out and check out the cars myself. Anyway, congrats again to everyone who won, and nice showing for the Db Drag, we are also hoping to build that up around here since I havent been able to find many shops or clubs hosting Db Drag Comps around atlanta.

ok I think this convo has gone on pretty long, I think everything has been said about 3-4 times. I agree with you guys, there were cars that had more mods than me, I never argued that at all. I just did not like the several comments about my bone stock civic and me being on 15s so I had to make a comment, and everyone saying that they not bashing The judges made their decision it is not like I am going to go to them and be like here is your trophy back.

I was not losing track, they asked what would be a good suggestion for their next show that is why I made that comment, you keep going back to what I have in my car.

Ok I have a couple of problems with your posts. The main problem I have with you posts is your issue on presentation. I'm sorry but IMHO the car should be able to present itself. It's either rice, stock, a work in progress, or a full blown show car. If you have no idea why the mod is there than you should either deduct points if you think it takes away from the car or you really have no business judging a car show. I'm sorry if you feel that this is an insult but this is what I think. I say this because really the main reason why anybody puts any "show" modification on a car is because they they like the way it look more than anything. Unless the car has custom fabricated lip that they actually spent time in a wind tunnel designing to help increase downforce. I don't understand why you need someone there to explain to you why they put something on the car. They put it there for 2 reasons. To win shows and it looked good. Complaints like this is what really made me get out of the show scene. At the end of the day I'd rather worry about how I'm going to have fun with my car than taking it out and possibly getting a scratch on it that will cause me to lose points at a show

Even tho i placed at this show, and appreciate it- I do feel the need to point out a few things for somone i dont allow on this forum. 1st - The judge should know a mod was done to the car because Thats what the person wanted on their car. Rice or Not , hince its there. 2nd- Not ALL your judging forms where properly filled out- I happen to know this for a fact due to i asked to see them! 3rd- "Presentation" you speak of has a few holes in it, i know for a fact somone DID take the time and talk to a judge about their project for quiet some time, althought they didnt remember every single detail and was nervous due to it being their first show Ever. It was properly "Presented" verbaly , and had some display, to be honest- it was cleaner than mine. All i mean by this is , if your defending yourself or your judges by "presentation" make sure there was a fair chance for everyone to due so, and im no rocket scientist- but if you spend " 30 min " on everyones "presentation" that'd be a LONG ass show!
Just my 2 sents- But I do feel strongly that people on here appreciate a judge name Pablo ( if he still does it ) Also yea there are a few that do DB drags- Clash of the Titans ran them for about 2 yrs. In the end, i hope this is taken as Constructive - and not a Stab

I agree completely. In fact even though I didn't place, I actually have no issue with the results. In the truck class that I was in, I felt they got it right with the limo and Avalanche taking that class.

I do think that spending over 30 minutes for a presentation is actually a bit disrespectful to the others there being judged. I would have gone over every mod and kept the only judge of the three that actually let me present to them for an hour if I thought they had the time. But let's be honest here. A show that ran for 6 hours (10am - 4pm) and with judging starting at 12pm, taking up 30 minutes of a judges time never crossed my mind.

Again, I have no issue with the results. They are what they are. It's more of the criteria on how those results were achieved. And the emphasis that seems to be placed more on the verbal presentation time than the actual vehicle itself.

At the end of the day, it's a car show. It was a nice day, I had a great time and I thank AW for a really nice event. No hard feelings on my part at all.

thanks ))RedRT, your truck is gorgeous. Im thinking next time every car entered will get a blank sheet with each class and a blank 1-3. Each person with a car entered can rate what they think is the best 1st thru 3rd in each class. then we will tally the scores, 10 points being given for 1st, 7 for 2nd, and 5th for third. the winner will be the highest score. I cant think of another way to do it and this way noone can complain about the outcome. It really was meant to be a chance for people to hang out and get to know one another. I really didnt think everyone would get up in arms over a trophy. but I guess you learn. I know some people feel that the presentation is second to the car, and you are welcome to that opinion. But I disagree. We hosted the show and everyone was made very aware "through the judging sheets" what was expected. Im sorry to those who disagree and lost on principle, but thats hows the show was organized. It may not be that way in the future. Like I said, I enjoyed meeting everyone and enjoyed the cars and really hope to see everyone next time.

I dont think I have ever been to a show in which I had to explain my mods. They speak for themselves. IE: Motor swap, wheels, suspension, bolt-ons, CF, etc. I know I personally didnt want to stand by my car all day and wait on the judges to "present" on my. It speaks for itself, plain and simple.

dont do that hire people that have been judging for awhile. in fact if you need judges for the next show let me know. The Allstars have been judging for awhile now and i know pablo is a respected judge around here. i am sure he would be happy to help.

I really dont want people to take this wrong, the point of presenting the car isnt just for us to judge the presentation. We had over 100 cars to go through and I didnt want to keep anyone there til midnight. I knew that if we just went over your cars and missed something small that the owner was proud of, they would be upset that that piece was missed. Obviously we cant please everyone, Im sorry to those of you that were upset of feel you were judged unfairly. In the end, its a local car show, hopefully you just had fun hanging out on a sunday. I didnt think such a stink would be raised about this and its gone on long enough. If anyone wants to come in and talk to me about it, Im here monday thru saturday, but honestly Im tired of talking about it on a forum. I hope to see everyone back next time, and thanks again for participating.

you said it yourself. its a local show why would it matter if you missed something minor. lol. i know everytime i have judged summer nationals we ask for minor details if the owner is around but nothing more. the car should present itself. and most judges have a good general knowledge of cars to understand what is modified and what is not. i am sure we will be back for the next one. just let me know if you guys need some help with anything
