Another injury for the celtics. This season is starting to look like last season. Decimated by injuries. Barbosa and Sully werent HUGE losses, but hurts the depth.

I wonder what PG we will sign now. Would like to go get Jannero Pargo if the Hawks waive him

The clippers have depth now. The only way they don't play in the Western Conference finals is if Chris Paul has a season ending injury OR they meet OKC in the 2nd Round.

I dont think a lot honestly. There are too many teams that just cant make the trades. Everyone is really looking at the cap and luxury tax next season, and what you have right now is haves and have nots.

You have people like the Lakers who , because of their big payroll over the last 10 years, have NO pieces left to trade really. BIG existing contracts NOBODY wants, everyone wants expiring. People like Rudy Gay who had huge overpriced contracts can only go to teams that are REALLY REALLY shitty with TONS of buying power. Keeping that in mind:

Celtics have no pieces to deal IMO. MAYBE Brandon Bass or Courtney lee, but i doubt it. The time to ship Pierce and KG off was 3 years ago, not now. They have a youthful core they will depend on going forward. Jeff Green will replace Paul Pierce, Rondo is their for life. Theyll go after someone in FA when KG and PP retire.

Clippers, why mess with a good thing. No reason to move bledsoe, hes too valuable as a backup in case Paul gets hurt. Clippers are SOOOOO DEEP especially with a healthy Odom and Butler and Billips. But they lack a real second PG, and Im not sure I would let Bledsoe go because you wont get much in return for him maybe a draft pick.

Lakers the only piece i see them moving is Gasol, but his trade value now is seriously diminished. AND PAU is a handcuff if they lose D12 in the offseason. They trade Pau for nothing, lose d12, they are in serious serious trouble.

Hawks, unless they get big time draft picks, Josh Smith is going nowhere. I wish they would trade him, but I sense they know he wont get a max contract anywhere else, no other team can afford to give him BIG money besides maybe the mavericks. Nets have the payroll so he could wind up there, but does he REALLY want to play next to JJ again?

I really dont see any big trades happening. Teams will do some minor moves, save money, and look towards FA this offseason

"Chris Paul is a great leader...... but Tony Parker is the best PG in the game" -Reggie Miller tonight while watching Tony Parker carve the Clippers to pieces.

I just want to point out how dead on balls accurate i was about the trade deadline.

Clippers getting WORKED by the Spurs. Tony Parker =money. This is what the Clippers weakness is. Zero low post game, kinda like OKC. When you have a team like the Spurs that can shoot and post, its tough to beat. Blake Griffin and DJORDAN have to be more active down low.

    Tony Parker - 31 points 7 assists 1 steal 0 turnovers
    Chris Paul - 4 points 3 assists 1 steal 3 turnovers

Allstar break is over..... time to start separating the pretenders from the contenders.

Clippers also had a week off. 1 game is 1 game. But, they have a tendency to have those really terrible games at the worst time.

Terrible game.... but I dont think it was bad timing.... they have already beat the spurs twice this season. the spurs NEEDED to win..... let's not forget, the clippers had the best record in the NBA before paul went down with a injury...... to put in some perspective how valuable he is, and how strong the Western conference is....

the spurs never need to win any game that isnt a playoff game. They moonwalk into the playoffs every year in 1st place. They do it while relaxing most of the season resting.

hall of fame coach, best PF to EVER play the game. arguably the best 6th man to ever play in the NBA, the deepest team in the NBA. GREAT PG, what's not to love?

but TRUST me, they needed that win.... and the game on March 29th will be great as well to see if the spurs can even the season series. the spurs were embarrassed earlier in the season and coach POP said the clippers were a better team after the blowout game the clippers won. they proved their point last night....... back to the drawing board for the clippers.

21.1 ppg shooting 53% from the field 7.6 assists..... playing the typical light spurs workload with their foot half way on the throttle.

HIS foot is NEVER halfway on the throttle. He's a scorer!! Why are you surprised? Do you see how many shots he takes a game?.....

What is GREAT now is the fact he's setting his teammates up for great shots!! Great season Tony Parker, but they are still 1-2 against the clippers, try not to forget it..... Neither team is the same as last season either!!

But let's quit acting like he's doing something special....... CP3 averaged 21PPG, 11.5 APG, 2.7 SPG, 85% FT, 37% 3P, 49% FG and didn't win the MVP. Great season Tony Parker, but nothing spectacular IMO.

    Default Comparison

Is Tony Parker Overtaking Chris Paul as NBA's Top Point Guard? | Bleacher Report

Player Efficiency Rating (PER) is a complex metric which seeks to capture each player's overall productivity. It is measured per minute and adjusted for each team's pace of play (via ESPN).

LeBron and Kevin Durant lead the league in PER. Chris Paul is third. Tony Parker is fourth.

Paul might be the best ball handler in the game. He can score at will, but he penetrates to pass the ball as well. He's third in assists behind the injured Rondo and Steve Nash
    .

Paul's scoring average has dipped this season to 16.4 points per game (down from 19.8 PPG last year), but that could just be due to the arrival of Jamal Crawford and the emergence of Eric Bledsoe.

After leading the league in steals for the past two seasons, Paul is currently at the top of that category again. He's an absolute kleptomaniac.

And his overall defense is rock solid, despite his small size (6'0", 175 pounds). Opposing point guards have a 12.9 PER against him (according to 82games.com), which pales in comparison to his own PER of 26.3.

It's hard to argue, when faced with the stats, that CP3 is anything other than the best point guard in the league.

CLEVELAND!!! LMAO..... i can show you cp3 dominating tony parker in the playoffs..... but you will just ignore it again.

but like i said...... when you compare a player vs a player it makes zero sense to say what their TEAM did. Last time i checked the greatest Power forward in the history of the nba and the greatest 6th man in the history of the game played on the same team.... but yea they dont help anything... but here's a little reminder of what you missed in the past....

    not this argument again................

Ill just say this, Chris Paul has the team to go DEEP in the playoffs. He will not play on a better team that what he has right now:
    Legit Big Man-DJ
Top 3 PF in the league- Blake Griffin
6th Man of the Year - JCrossover
    Former 6th Man-Odom
    HOF-Grant Hill
    Big Shot- Billups
Backup PG that is a starter on half the NBA teams-Bledsoe
    Legit Journeymen- Butler and Barnes
Then they have big men who can bang and give up fouls in Turiaf and Thompson.

He wont get a better team than this, not a better starting 5, or bench. He arguably has a better team than the Spurs at this point in his career.

Do you think Parker is better than CP3? Do you think Jamal Crawford THIS YEAR is better than Gino? Do you think Duncan is better than Griffin? I think you can say YES in almost all those positions. you can argue that in the last minutes of a game, Duncan is FAR more polished than Griffin in creating his own shot and jumper. But numbers wise, Griffin is having a better year, and hes 5 times as athletic.

My point is, CP3 has his chance NOW, if they do not get past the Spurs, his legacy will take a HUGE hit. He will no longer have the "my team isnt good enough" excuse(which was warranted until now). He has to get to the WCF this year, otherwise its a BUST.

VERY VERY well said. Even though they are my team, I don't have them in the Western Conference Finals THIS season. Next Year is the year IMO. It was good for BG32 and DJ to have their first taste of playoff experience last season, BUT I think in order for them to surpass OKC or S.A. Blake Griffin has to be confident about his midrange jump shot. It's getting better but its not on a duncan/garnett/aldridge level. Plus if they end up the #3 seed, they will have to beat OKC to even see the Spurs if they end up #1 seed. So A LOT depends on the seeding!!

2 Reasons they wont make it.

    1. Blake Griffin's shooting confidence and lack of rim protection on defense.
    2. COACHING COACHING COACHING

BUT I will be watching! LoL. And sinfix...... don't get it twisted, I LOVE the spurs!!! I watch almost every spurs game. The greatest coach in the NBA by far!

I think next year you will lose Bledsoe, possibly all the other role players like Barnes, Butler, Hill, Odom........billups will be another year older. I dont see the Clippers being as good next year as this year, especially when they sign CP3 to a max deal and have to deal with Salary Cap issues. They have DJ to trade, but I think that hurts them, not helps them. Very few legit big men in the game.

No way CP3 sign's without knowing the team will get STRONGER! I think you guys are underestimating how bad he wants to get a title.

And look for a BIG NAME coach to be there next season. But also, don't count them out of this season! Payback game vs. OKC this sunday! Last game they played cp3 didn't play. So I look forward to seeing that game!

Time for the Miami Heat curse to start back up....... teams will start moving out of their way and losing star players to injury. The refs are preparing their whistles to be blown anytime someone comes within 3 feet of Lebron.

Watching the Memphis game last night, I cant believe some of the calls on the Grizz. Phantom foul calls, offensive foul calls, HUGE Missed 5 second call on Birdman during a crucial possession.

Miami did get screwed on the poindexter leg kickout 3 AND 1 call, but i felt like the refs made a 3 for 1 make up call on that one.
