Most people would tell you that DMC sounds like it was made in the late 80s, yes Elevators was made around 2000-2002, when it was made about 5 years before.

what the fuck are you talkin about? Are you trying to say ATLiens sounds ahead of its time? Run DMC was waaaay ahead of their time too. I just don't see where youre trying to go with that?

90% of mainstream rap is garbage. A few good songs mixed in, but mostly not worth wating you life listening to it.

Underground rap is always the best you are going to find. I only really know the chichago underground cause thats where I grew up. I remember listening to Twista when he was still Tung Twista, Crucial Conflict before "Hay", DA Smart, B-Low 0, Snipaz, Southside Mobbin.

Other older, and not as well known NORTHERN rappers that stayed pretty much in the underground. Dayton Family from Detroit is the one that comes to min at 3am, but there are others.

I didn't even see that. But yes, Gangstarr is a group. The very first time I saw/heard them, I though GS was the name of the rapper, lolol.

I've heard the very same thing many times.

So true. I was a huge fan of Eric B and Co. Rakim was a badass emcee, but, like JM said, a few years at the top does a G.O.A.T. not make. To me, he's on the line of Kool G Rap and Kane both. Later, QD.

The Dayton Family came out just after MC Breed("Ain't No Future In Yo Frontin'"). Both are from Flint. Later, QD.

    4. Big L, I was a huge fan of his unsigned mixtape stuff, but his only album was iffy. Platinum Plus was hott tho.

    5. LOL, "wow someone else listens to dead prez...i thought i was the only one..." youre so cool

Its obvious youre young and don't know shit. I also find it honorable that you are at least making an attempt to learn more... Thats why I'm not gonna flame your ass and basically make fun of everything you posted in here. Its just sorta obvious you are frontin a little bit on your Hip Hop knowledge and I find that a little annoying

    JACKMASTER
i mean i know a little bit...i think rakim is definetly a legend and a landmark in hip hop, not g.o.a.t but who cares if he hasnt done shit for 15 years...its about what he did do in that 5 year period like your saying

and pac's lyrics were never that appealing...im getting those songs you mentioned though

White rappers is an oxymoron. The only white rapper I will listen to is MC Serch and Pete Nice. And they aren't pure white. Later, QD.

What did Rakim do ? How is he a legend? I mean, Eric B and him could never out shine RUN DMC... Or Kurtis Blow... Who were hot around the mid to late 80's..

NOTHING.... he was/is wack... I mean.. when LL and Fresh prince steal your shine.. how good can you really be?

    hahaha.
He was diffrent back in the Mid to late 80's because of his slow and raw delievery of his rhymes.... It was diffrent back then..
But You have to realize when he went solo around 90-91 or whatever year it was...
He was going against some Future HIP HOP GOATS.
